Treats Hui Jue (Roundworm Convulsion) caused by Stomach Cold.
This is Lizhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction) added with fried Chuanjiao (Sichuan Pepper, *Zanthoxyli Pericarpium*) (5 grains) and Binglang (Areca Seed, *Arecae Semen*) (0.5 fen). Wumei Wan (Mume Pill) also treats Hui Jue; see the section on Heart-Spleen Pain.
Treats Shi Jue (Corpse-like Fainting), which is a manifestation of Zhong E (Sudden Evil Invasion). It occurs due to exposure to evil qi, resulting in sudden coldness of the hands and feet, cyanosis and blackening of the head and face, loss of consciousness, delirious speech, and lockjaw. It is appropriate to administer Suhexiang Wan (Styrax Pill) via gavage. After the patient regains slight consciousness, use Tiaoqi Pingwei San (Regulate Qi and Harmonize the Stomach Powder). Zijin Ding (Purple Gold Pellet) is also effective.
Baiddoukou (White Cardamom, *Amomi Fructus Rotundus*), Dingxiang (Clove, *Caryophylli Flos*), Tanxiang (Sandalwood, *Santalum Album Lignum*), Muxiang (Aucklandia Root, *Aucklandiae Radix*) (each 2 qian), Huoxiang (Patchouli, *Pogostemonis Herba*), Gancao (Licorice Root, *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma*) (each 8 fen), Sharen (Amomum Fruit, *Amomi Fructus*) (4 qian), Cangzhu (Atractylodes Rhizome, *Atractylodis Rhizoma*) (8 qian), decocted strongly.
Grind the above herbs into powder. Take 2 qian per dose, decoct with ginger and jujube in water, add a little salt, mix well, and take orally.
Treats skin numbness and itching.
Huangqi (Astragalus Root, *Astragali Radix*), Baishao (White Peony Root, *Paeoniae Radix Alba*), Gancao (Licorice Root, *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma*), Zexie (Alisma Rhizome, *Alismatis Rhizoma*), Chenpi (Aged Tangerine Peel, *Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium*), Renshen (Ginseng Root, *Panacis Ginseng Radix*).
Decoct with 1.5 zhan of water and take orally. Add Banxia (Pinellia Tuber, *Pinelliae Rhizoma*) and Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger, *Zingiberis Recens Rhizoma*) if there is phlegm.
Treats numbness of both hands, fatigue of the four limbs, lethargy, and desire to lie down. This is due to heat damaging the Yuan Qi (Original Qi).
Huangqi (Astragalus Root, *Astragali Radix*) (8 qian), Sheng Gancao (Raw Licorice Root, *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma*), Renshen (Ginseng Root, *Panacis Ginseng Radix*) (each 5 qian), Baishao (White Peony Root, *Paeoniae Radix Alba*) (2 qian), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root, *Bupleuri Radix*) (2.5 qian), Zhi Gancao (Honey-fried Licorice Root, *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma*), Shengma (Cimicifuga Rhizome, *Cimicifugae Rhizoma*) (each 2 qian).
Divide into four doses. Decoct with 1.5 zhan of water.
Treats numbness and heaviness of both legs.
Huangqi (Astragalus Root, *Astragali Radix*) (8 qian), Gancao (Licorice Root, *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma*) (6 qian), Qingpi (Green Tangerine Peel, *Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride*) (4 qian), Shengma (Cimicifuga Rhizome, *Cimicifugae Rhizoma*), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root, *Bupleuri Radix*), Guishao (Angelica Sinensis Tip, *Angelicae Sinensis Radix*), Zexie (Alisma Rhizome, *Alismatis Rhizoma*) (each 2 qian), Chenpi (Aged Tangerine Peel, *Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium*) (1 qian).
Another prescription: Treats numbness due to Qi deficiency, with damp-phlegm in the Stomach. "Mu" (wood-like stiffness) implies Ren (insensitivity); damp-phlegm in the Stomach and dead blood/stasis in the meridians cause symptoms on either side.
Another prescription: Treats Wind-Dampness, causing pain throughout the body or numbness and insensitivity. First, drink several cups of hot wine infused with HuJiao (Pepper, *Piperis Longi Fructus*) and Jiangzhi (Ginger Juice, *Zingiberis Succus*). Then, mash half jin (or 4-5 liang) of Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger, *Zingiberis Recens Rhizoma*), mix it with Qiaomian (Buckwheat Flour, *Fagopyri Esculenti Semen*), form a cake, and apply it to the navel. When heat is felt entering the abdomen after burning one incense stick, and after two to three incense sticks when sweating pervades the whole body, the condition will heal spontaneously.
See the Spleen-Stomach section.
(Attached: Shi Bi [Damp Bi] and Hexi Feng [Crane Knee Wind])
This refers to wandering pain in the four limbs and joints. Other texts call it Baihu Lijie Feng (White Tiger Joint-Wandering Wind). Causes include phlegm, Wind-Heat, Wind-Dampness, and Blood deficiency. There are also conditions similar to Bi syndrome: Xing Bi (Wandering Bi) involves migrating pain; Tong Bi (Painful Bi) is Tongfeng (Gout); Zhuo Bi (Fixed Bi) involves numbness and insensitivity. Bi resembles Wei syndrome; painful conditions are Bi, while non-painful conditions are Wei.
