[One-Pinch Gold Powder] Xionghuang (Realgar, *Realgar*), 3 qian; Pengsha (Borax, *Borax*), 1 qian; Longnao (Borneol, *Borneolum Syntheticum*), a small amount; Gancao (Licorice Root, *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma*), 5 fen; or add Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome, *Coptidis Rhizoma*), 5 fen.
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. Apply dry directly to the affected area, or mix with honey water for topical application.
Another method: Rescue from hanging death. From morning to evening, if there is still slight warmth under the heart, it can be treated. Quickly lift the deceased, loosen and widen the rope, untie and remove the rope, but do not cut the rope. Gently manipulate the throat, place in lateral recumbency, cover with a quilt, and urgently blow air into both ears using a bamboo tube. One person urgently pulls the hair without letting go, while another steps on the shoulders. A third person massages the chest and flexes/extends the limbs. If there is any sign of life, immediately administer rice water. This increases survival rates.
Another method: Rescue drowning victims. First, open the mouth with an object, place a chopstick horizontally between the teeth to bite, position the head low and feet high to drain water, quickly unbind clothing, and moxa the Zhongwan (CV-12) point (Note: Text says "navel", usually Shenque CV-8, but text says "navel center" which is Shenque. I will translate as navel/Shenque). The patient will revive.
Another method: Rescue freezing death from falling into water. When limbs are cold, unable to speak, with only faint breath, do not immediately apply fire heat. Use a cloth bag filled with hot ashes... [Text incomplete]
Another method: Rescue heatstroke injury. Do not immediately place in cold environments; cold exposure causes death. It is suitable to use warm water to frequently massage and wash the chest and abdomen. In urgent situations on the road, spread hot earth from the road over the abdomen and umbilicus, forming a depression, and have someone urinate into the earth around the umbilicus; the patient will revive.
Another method: Rescue sudden invasion by evil qi (Zhongwu, Zhong'e, Guiqi). Use Xijiao (Rhinoceros Horn, *Rhinocerotis Cornu*), 5 qian; Shexiang (Musk, *Moschus*), Chensha (Cinnabar, *Cinnabaris*), each 2.5 qian. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed well water. If these medicines are unavailable, use 1 qian of Xionghuang (Realgar, *Realgar*) powder, mixed with decoction of peach and willow branches. If Realgar is also unavailable, use sweat-soaked clothes worn for a long time, or inner clothes/clothes that have been touched for a long time; men use women's clothes, women use men's clothes, burn until carbonized (preserving nature), mix with boiling water, take 2 qian.
Another prescription: Treat sudden Zhong'e (evil invasion) with loss of consciousness. Grind Jiucai (Chinese Chive, *Allii Tuberosi Rhizoma et Bulbus*) to extract juice and instill into the nose.
Another method: Rescue sleep paralysis (Guiyan, Guida). Upon arriving at inns or staying in cold, unoccupied rooms, if one feels oppressed by spirits during sleep... [Text incomplete]
Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis, *Bovis Calculus*), Xionghuang (Realgar, *Realgar*), each 1 qian; Chensha (Cinnabar, *Cinnabaris*), 5 fen.
Grind into fine powder, mix evenly. Take 1 qian per dose... [Text seems garbled regarding administration "burn under bed"], then take 1 qian, mixed with wine and administered. If these medicines are unavailable, use 7 cun of peach and willow branches from the east side, decoct in water and administer. If no peach/willow branches, use 1 qian of Zaoxintu (Furnace Hearth Earth, *Caulis Trichosanthis* - Note: Zaoxintu is typically *Fuligin*, here translated as Furnace Hearth Earth), crushed to powder, mixed with well water and administered. Additionally, blow half a fingernail amount of powder into the nose. Then moxa the Renge (GV-26) point, followed by moxaing the medial aspect of both big toes, one leek-width away from the nail, seven moxa cones on each.
Another method: Rescue unconsciousness during sleep. Instill Jiucai (Chinese Chive, *Allii Tuberosi Rhizoma et Bulbus*) juice into the nose. In winter, crush Jiugen (Chinese Chive Root, *Allii Tuberosi Bulbus*) to extract juice and administer.
Another method: Rescue Yang Collapse (Tuoyang). After severe vomiting and diarrhea, with cold extremities, disconnected vital energy, and unconsciousness. Also, after recovering from Shanghan (Cold Damage, *Shanghan*), engaging in sexual intercourse with women leads to symptoms of lower abdominal tightness and pain, retraction of the external genitalia, dark complexion, panting, and emission of cold air. This is also Yang Collapse; failure to rescue within moments leads to death. First, stir-fry several stalks of Congbai (Scallion White, *Allii Fistulosi Bulbus*) until cooked, and apply hot compress to below the umbilicus. Then use:
Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root, *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata*) (one weighing 1 liang, sliced), Baizhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome, *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma*), Jiangjiang (Dried Ginger, *Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens* - Note: Text says Ganjiang/Dried Ginger usually, but says Jiangjiang, likely Ganjiang), each 0.5 liang; Muxiang (Costus Root, *Saussureae Radix*), 2.5 qian.
Grind the four ingredients into powder. Add two zhong of water, decoct to eight fen. Take when cool. After a short while, administer another dose. Decoct the dregs again. If these medicines are unavailable, use Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig, *Cinnamomi Ramulus*), 2 liang, good wine, 2 sheng, decoct to 1 sheng, divide into two doses. If Guizhi is unavailable, use Congbai (Scallion White, *Allii Fistulosi Bulbus*) and Lianxu Sanqi Gen (Seven-root Scallion with Stems, *Allii Fistulosi Bulbus cum Stamine*), finely sliced, ground finely in a mortar, add five sheng of wine, boil to two sheng, divide into two doses. Yang energy will return. First, apply hot-compressed salt to the Qi Hai (CV-6) point below the umbilicus, ensuring the area does not become cold. If no scallion white, decoct three to seven slices of Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger, *Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens*) and take orally, which is also effective.
