以利水与窍,水利则血管亦利;又加黄柏为引,直入血管之中,而引夙精出于血管之外;芥穗引败血出于血管之内;
A woman may experience continuous bleeding after every act of intercourse. Although it may not be as severe as metrorrhagia (profuse uterine bleeding), if it persists year after year without healing, it inevitably leads to a dual deficiency of Qi and Blood. Over time, there is a fear of developing blood exhaustion and amenorrhea (cessation of menstruation).
This condition arises from intercourse during the flow of menstrual blood, where semen impacts the blood vessels. While the impact of semen on the blood vessels causes only temporary injury, and should heal once the semen is expelled, why does the red bleeding persist? The truth is that the blood vessels are extremely delicate and cannot withstand injury from semen. For conception to occur, it must happen when the blood vessels (uterine lining) have been completely cleared of menstrual blood to ensure safety. If intercourse occurs while menstrual blood is abundant and surging, the incoming semen causes the outgoing blood to retreat and retract. Consequently, fertilization cannot take place, and the accumulated semen transforms into blood. During intercourse, sexual energy stirs up the old accumulated semen, leading to mutual resonance; the old semen desires to exit, and the blood follows it out. The treatment method requires unblocking the Qi of the uterus and womb, guiding the old accumulated semen out, and supplementing with herbs that tonify Qi and essence. In this way, the injury to the blood vessels can be healed. The formula used is Jingjing Zhixue Tang (Semen-Guiding Hemostatic Decoction).
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 5 qian), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 1 liang, stir-fried with soil), Fu Ling (Poria, 3 qian, peeled), Shu Di Huang (Prepared Rehmanniae Radix, 1 liang, steamed nine times), Shan Yu Rou (Corni Fructus, 5 qian, steamed), Hei Jiang (Blackened Ginger Rhizome, 1 qian), Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex, 0.5 fen), Jie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica, 3 qian), Che Qian Zi (Plantaginis Semen, 3 qian, stir-fried with wine).
Decoct in water. Take continuously for four doses to achieve cure; ten doses will prevent recurrence. This formula uses Ren Shen and Bai Zhu to tonify Qi, and Di Huang and Shan Yu Rou to tonify Essence. Once Qi and Essence are robust, the blood vessels become patent. Fu Ling and Che Qian Zi are added to promote diuresis and open orifices; when water pathways are clear, blood vessels also become clear. Huang Bo is added as a guide herb to enter directly into the blood vessels and draw out retained semen from within them. Jie Sui guides stagnant blood out from inside the blood vessels. Hei Jiang seals the openings of the blood vessels. Within this single formula lies the subtle art of harmonious regulation, thus enabling the removal of old diseases and chronic accumulations. However, one must strictly abstain from sexual activity for three months; otherwise, the damaged areas will suffer further severe injury, and the tonification efforts will be severely compromised. Otherwise, one merely achieves temporary relief. One must be cautious! It is advisable to reduce desires.
Marginal Note: Those wishing to conceive should wait until after the cessation of menstruation (luohong), specifically after thirty shichen (two and a half days). Only after the menstrual period has lasted its full thirty shichen can intercourse resume. On the first day, a male child is conceived; on the second, a female; third, male; fourth, female; fifth, male; sixth, female. After the seventh day, conception is no longer possible.
Verse:
When intercourse causes uterine blood flow, fear the worry of blood exhaustion and essence closure.
Treatment must unblock the Qi of the uterus and womb; tonifying essence and Qi cures the disease.
Jingjing Zhixue Tang contains Shu Di Huang, Ren Shen, Bai Zhu, Fu Ling, Shan Yu Rou, and Jiang.
Huang Bo, Jing Jie, and Che Qian Zi are included; caution regarding sexual restraint is required during medication.
