Use fresh-colored Rhinocerotis Cornu (Shan Yang Xue, 山羊血), dry it on a new tile, grind into powder, and take with aged wine; the dose is five to six fen; for severe cases, use up to eight fen, with miraculous efficacy.
Another method uses eggs from hens that have brooded but not hatched, dry them on a tile, and take with wine.
For treating critical deficiency-cold syndromes, scrape the bark of Radix Isatidis (Lan Xu Zi Gen, 蓝须子根), dry on a new tile, grind into powder, and take warm at a dose of one qian; even in critical conditions, it ensures safety.
Song: Shan Yang Xue treats extreme wind syndromes, dried on new tiles and taken with aged wine.
For severe cases, increase the dose to eight fen; when administering, mix and take with efficacy like a spirit.
This is due to stagnant evil blood accumulating in the Heart, causing blockage of Heart Qi, stiff tongue, and inability to speak; use Qi Zhen San (Seven Treasures Powder).
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Shi Chang Pu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), Chuan Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix) (each one liang), Chen Sha (Cinnabaris), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Xi Xin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma)

Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Shi Lian Zi (Nelumbinis Semen, heart removed), Shi Chang Pu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma) (equal parts)

*Fu Ren Liang Fang* states: Postpartum aphonia is caused by Heart and Kidney deficiency failing to produce sound; use Qi Zhen San. Spleen Qi stagnation uses Gui Pi Tang (Restore the Spleen Decoction); Spleen injury with poor appetite uses Si Jun Zi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction); dual deficiency of Qi and Blood uses Ba Zhen Tang (Eight Treasures Decoction); if ineffective, use Du Shen Tang (Single Ginseng Decoction). It is inadvisable to hastily add Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), as this replenishes blood to generate blood; using solely Po Xue (blood-breaking) medicines like Fo Shou San (Buddha's Hand Powder) is an error.
Song: Stiff tongue and aphonia use Ren Shen, Sheng Di Huang, Chuan Xiong, and Xi Xin.
Fang Feng, Chen Sha, Shi Chang Pu; the formula named Qi Zhen tonifies Heart and Kidney.
Postpartum constipation: In Sheng Hua Tang (Generate the New Decoction), reduce Hei Jiang (Charred Ginger) and add Ma Ren (Semen Cannabis); for distension, add Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium); for blood stasis pain, add Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) and Yuan Hu (Corydalis Rhizoma). If dryness persists for ten days or more, dry feces will be present at the anus; use Honey Date Suppository.

Take two to three liang of good honey, boil over fire until rolling, turning tea-brown. First wet a table, pour the honey onto the table, shape by hand into dates, insert into the anus, wait for the urge to defecate, remove the honey date, and bowel movement will occur.
Another method: Use Sesame Oil (Ma You), hold a bamboo tube in the mouth, insert into the anus, blow four or five mouthfuls of oil; abdominal feces will pass smoothly; pig gallbladder can also be used.
Song: Postpartum dry constipation, the Honey Date method is most effective.
Insert into the anus for about an hour, intestines moisten, stool passes, and fu-qi flows freely.

Zhen Suo Sha Ren (Amomi Fructus Rotundus) four liang, Lai Fu Zi (Radish Seed) two liang four qian, grind into powder, soak in water, extract thick juice, soak Sha Ren in this juice, wait until juice is absorbed, dry, grind to extremely fine powder. Take one qian per dose, gradually increasing to two qian, taken with light Ginger Soup.
Song: Generalized edema is water overflowing, soak Sha Ren in thick Radish juice.
When juice is absorbed and dried, grind to fine powder; taken with light Ginger Soup, efficacy is miraculous.
Bao Chan Shen Xiao Fang (Preserve Birth Divine Efficacy Formula)
Before birth, it calms the fetus; at birth, it induces labor; if fetal Qi is accidentally injured, causing lower back pain, abdominal pain, even continuous bleeding, threatening miscarriage, in critical moments, one dose cures, two doses ensure complete safety. At delivery, if the pubic symphysis does not open, breech presentation, or dead fetus in utero, life in peril, this formula has miraculous effects.

Marginal note: This is a legendary immortal formula; do not lightly alter dosages due to mediocre physicians.
Commentary: Bao Chan Wu You San and Bao Chan Shen Xiao Fang are essentially the same as the secret effective formulas for childbirth at the beginning of the compilation; only the introductory discussions differ slightly. Keep them together for reference.
Song: Same as Bao Chan Wu You San.
