This condition occurs when the Shaoyin (Lesser Yin) channel is invaded by cold pathogenic factors, forcing the True Yang within to float upward to the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner), presenting as false heat above and true cold below. The formula used is Pingchuan Quhan Tang (Calm Wheezing and Dispel Cold Decoction): Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 3 qian), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber, 3 qian), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 5 qian), Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex, 2 qian), Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus, 1 qian). Decoct in water and take orally. After one dose, wheezing subsides; after two doses, pain stops. It must be taken at once while the decoction is slightly cool.
This results from pathogenic factors entering the Yangming (Yang明) channel, where cold transforms into heat, causing severe wheezing and profuse sweating. For ordinary people suffering from this disease, Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) should be used. However, postpartum women suffer from severe deficiency of Qi and Blood, so how can such a formula be applied? The formula used is Buxu Jianghuo Tang (Tonify Deficiency and Descend Fire Decoction): Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber, 1 liang), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 5 qian), Yuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix, 5 qian), Sangye (Mori Folium, 14 leaves), Suzi (Perillae Fructus, 5 fen). Decoct in water and take orally. This formula uses Maidong and Ren Shen to tonify Qi, Yuan Shen to descend fire, Sangye to stop sweating, and Suzi to calm wheezing. It assists the righteous Qi without attacking the pathogen, allowing the pathogen to retreat without damaging the righteous Qi, truly achieving remarkable efficacy.
This is due to the overflow of Kidney Water, caused by the decline of Kidney Water. Urgently, Yang-tonifying herbs should be added to Yin-nourishing herbs to guide the floating fire back to its source, so that the water will naturally flow downward. The formula used is: Shudi (Prepared Rehmanniae Radix, 1 liang), Shanzhuyu (Corni Fructus, 5 qian), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 5 qian), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 1 liang), Fuling (Poria, 1 liang), Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen, 1 qian), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, 1 qian), Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex, 3 fen). Decoct in water and take orally.
Generally speaking, in cases of Yang Collapse (Wang Yang), if sweating stops after administering medicine, there is hope for recovery. It is appropriate to first stop the sweating and then stabilize the manic spirit. The formula used is Shouhan Tang (Stop Sweating Decoction): Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 3 liang), Sangye (Mori Folium, 30 leaves), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber, 2 liang), Yuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix, 1 liang), Qinghao (Artemisiae Annuae Herba, 5 qian). Decoct in water and take orally. After one dose, sweating stops; after two doses, mania stabilizes. Subsequently, adjust with Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), and Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma). This formula can rescue acute cases of Yang Collapse, serving as a temporary expedient measure. After two doses, another formula must be adopted.
To treat breast abscess or pain (Rutong), use the following method: One raw Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) ground into powder, one cun of Congbai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus), pounded into a paste, wrapped in silk cloth. If the left breast hurts, insert it into the right nostril; if the right breast hurts, insert it into the left nostril. (Recorded in *Fanglun*, but absent in *Nanke*).
