Treats heat stagnation in the stomach and diaphragm, causing irritability, fullness, and loss of appetite; or when heat stagnation develops into *Xiao Zhong* (Middle Jiao Diabetes), characterized by excessive eating yet emaciation; or when severe dryness-heat stagnation leads to *Xiao Ke* (Upper/Middle Jiao Diabetes), characterized by excessive drinking and frequent urination; or in cases of febrile diseases; or due to indulgence in alcohol and sexual activity, combined with the mistaken use of hot-warm medicines, resulting in damage and deficiency of the true Yin and blood of the Spleen and Stomach. When the Liver and Heart contend with each other, wind-heat and dryness become severe, causing dryness-heat stagnation in the Sanjiao (Triple Burner) and intestines and stomach, preventing the normal distribution and circulation of body fluids. Consequently, the whole body fails to receive moistening, leading to emaciation and a sallow, dark complexion. In such dryness-heat-induced *Xiao Ke*, although large amounts of water are consumed, the fluids ultimately fail to moisten the exterior of the intestines and stomach; thus, thirst persists, and the fluid from the stool is excreted as excessive urine. Vulgar physicians of the world, ignorant of this principle, wrongly diagnose it as deficiency-cold of the Lower Jiao, causing many deaths through misprescription. Similarly, when wind-heat and dryness stagnate throughout the body, it may manifest as turbid eyes, carbuncles, sores, and ulcers; upward it causes wheezing and coughing; downward it leads to flaccidity syndromes (*Wei Bi*) and bi-syndromes. If stagnation accumulates internally with severe damp-heat that cannot be transformed and transported, it may transform into edema and abdominal distension.
Excessive drinking with frequent urination is termed *Xiao Ke*; excessive eating with frequent urination is termed *Xiao Zhong*; emaciation of muscles and fatty substances in the urine is termed *Xiao Shen*. These are the three types of diabetes transmitted in the world. Although recorded everywhere, according to the *Huangdi Neijing* (Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon), they are merely variations in the severity of dryness-heat. This prescription treats all conditions of excess-Yang and deficiency-Yin, wind-heat and dryness-heat stagnation, dizziness and vertigo of the head and eyes, hemiplegia due to wind-stroke, accumulated toxins from alcohol, all types of intestinal and gastric obstruction and blockage, skin sores, tinea, flaccidity, and bi-syndromes, as well as irritability and thirst caused by cold-pathogen miscellaneous diseases and failure of Qi and fluids to circulate freely. It is suitable for all these conditions.

Grind into coarse powder. Take 5 qian per dose, add 1 zhan of water and 3 slices of fresh ginger, decoct together until half a zhan remains, strain the juice, add a small amount of honey, and take warm. Gradually increase the dose to over 10 qian, at any time, three times daily. If it promotes bowel movement and unblocks the viscera, it is not harmful and yields better results; afterwards, it can be taken regularly, or combined with Xiao Pi Wan (Eliminate Lump Pill). If one feels intestinal blockage, or has spontaneous diarrhea due to severe internal damp-heat, remove Da Huang and Mang Xiao.
