The pathogenic factors of the final qi (the last climatic period of the year) often induce wind-phlegm and bi-syndrome caused by wind-cold-dampness obstructing the four limbs. If autumnal gathering is excessive and winter water qi becomes prosperous again, water and dampness contend with each other, leading to a decline in Lung Qi. Due to severe winter cold, the disease manifests with contracting symptoms, resulting in flaccidity, cold extremities, weakness, and inability to move; body fluids become clear and cold, constituting a severe cold disease. This includes stagnation, masses, cold hernia, and blood masses—any diseases related to qi stagnation. For illnesses occurring during the final qi, treatments such as breaking accumulations and inducing sweating are appropriate.
When the meridian undergoes dynamic changes, it causes lower back pain that prevents flexion and extension; in men, swelling of the lower abdomen, and in severe cases, dryness of the pharynx, a dusty complexion, and loss of luster. Diseases generated by Liver dysfunction include chest fullness, vomiting and regurgitation, undigested diarrhea, fox hernia, urinary incontinence, and difficulty urinating. These symptoms arise from the aforementioned conditions.
Meridian dynamic changes cause bitter taste, frequent sighing, pain in the heart and hypochondrium, inability to turn the body easily; in severe cases, a slightly dusty facial appearance, lack of bodily luster, and abnormal heat on the lateral aspect of the foot, known as Yang Jue (Yang Reversal). Diseases governed by the Gallbladder meridian regarding bones include headache, mandibular pain, pain at the inner canthus, swelling and pain in the suprasternal fossa, axillary swelling, scrofula (Mar Dao and Jia Ying), sweating with chills, malaria, and pain throughout the chest, hypochondrium, ribs, thigh, lateral knee, tibia, Juegu point, anterior lateral malleolus, and all joints, along with dysfunction of the fourth toe. These symptoms arise from the aforementioned conditions.
Meridian dynamic changes cause dryness of the pharynx, heart pain, thirst with desire to drink, known as Arm Jue (Arm Reversal). Diseases governed by the Heart meridian include yellow eyes, hypochondriac pain, pain and coldness along the posterior medial aspect of the arm, and heat and pain in the palm. These symptoms arise from the aforementioned conditions.
Meridian dynamic changes cause sore throat, mandibular swelling, inability to look back, shoulder sensation as if being pulled out or broken. Diseases governed by the Small Intestine meridian regarding fluids include deafness, yellow eyes, cheek swelling, neck and mandibular shoulder... (text ends here).
Meridian dynamic changes cause stiffness of the tongue root, vomiting after eating, epigastric pain, abdominal distension, frequent belching, relief after defecation and passing gas, feeling as if the condition has subsided, and heaviness of the body. Diseases governed by the Spleen meridian include pain at the tongue root, inability to move the body, difficulty swallowing, irritability, urgent pain below the heart, loose stools or mass-related diarrhea, fluid obstruction, jaundice, inability to lie flat, discomfort when standing forcibly, swelling and coldness in the medial thigh and knee, and dysfunction of the great toe. These symptoms arise from the aforementioned conditions.
Meridian dynamic changes cause shivering and aversion to cold, frequent groaning and yawning, darkened complexion; upon onset, aversion to people and fire, terror upon hearing wooden sounds, palpitations, preferring to stay alone with doors closed and windows shut; in severe cases, desire to climb high and sing, discard clothes and run, borborygmus and abdominal distension, known as Manic Jue (Manic Reversal). Diseases governed by the Bladder meridian regarding blood include manic malaria, warm pathogenic excess, sweating, epistaxis, oral ulcers, labial herpes, neck swelling, throat obstruction, massive abdominal edema, and painful swelling of the knee patella. Pain extends along the chest, breast, Qichong point, lateral thigh, lateral Furong point, and dorsum of the foot, with dysfunction of the middle finger. When Qi is abundant, the anterior part of the body becomes hot. If there is excess in the Stomach, digestion accelerates with easy hunger and yellow urine; if deficient, the anterior part of the body becomes cold and shivering, with cold in the stomach causing distension. These symptoms arise from the aforementioned conditions.
