Wind pathogen is the master of Jueyin Wind-Wood Qi. Various conditions caused by wind, such as tremors and dizziness (Zhufeng Diaoxuan), wind-phlegm, wind-jue (Fengjue), flooding of saliva causing obstruction, hemiplegia, aphasia (Shiyin Buyu), retention of fluid leading to undigested stool diarrhea (Liuyin Xunxie), phlegm-stagnation causing vomiting, retching, and vertigo, facial paralysis with convulsions (Kou Chou Nuo), sudden collapse, stiffness, dizziness, pediatric palpitations, mania, epigastric pain at the heart region, pain radiating to both hypochondria, obstruction in the throat and diaphragm, lateral or frontal headache, wind affecting the head or during bathing, spasm and contracture of hands and feet, all belong to Liver Wood pathology, where human Qi gathers in the head.

Summerheat pathogen is the master of Shaoyin Sovereign Fire Qi. Various painful, itchy sores and ulcers, carbuncles, malignant swellings and toxic masses, as well as gastric irritability and heat, dry cough and asthma in the throat, hemoptysis, hematochezia, edema, internal pain in the scapula, heart pain, lung distension, abdominal distension, and depression. Wind-warmth diseases occur frequently; wind damages Ying (Nutritive) level, while warmth damages Wei (Defensive) level. Blood belongs to Ying, Qi belongs to Wei. The pulse is mostly deep in both hands, accompanied by spontaneous sweating, heavy body, excessive sleepiness, and inevitable snoring. Within three days of onset, it is appropriate to resolve the exterior using acrid-cool methods or acrid-warm methods. If the condition persists and exterior signs have not resolved, purgation must absolutely be avoided. Purging would leave the stomach empty. Beyond four days, if exterior heat enters the interior, symptoms include delirium, dry mouth, rash, tidal fever, fixed gaze, and urinary incontinence; eight or nine out of ten cases will result in death. Lung Metal pathology occurs when human Qi gathers in the chest. Regarding pediatric smallpox/rash and erysipelas, if only human Qi gathers in the abdomen.

Dampness pathogen is the master of Taiyin Damp-Earth Qi. Various conditions caused by dampness, such as swelling and fullness, cholera-like vomiting and diarrhea, edema and bone pain, as well as pain in the waist, knees, head, and neck, wind-bi, flaccidity syndrome, jue syndrome, blood in sputum, a sensation of hunger in the heart, and the initial onset of hot pain. When the Three Yang meridians are affected: on the first day, Taiyang; on the second day, Yangming; on the third day, Shaoyang; these can be cured by sweating. If on the fourth day, Taiyin; fifth day, Shaoyin; sixth day, Jueyin; these can be cured by purging. Or if not healed after seven days, transmitting again until the thirteenth day, major pathogens are eliminated, and the Six Meridians harmonize, resulting in recovery. This is Kidney Water pathology.
