Treats pediatric *zouma gan* (a rapidly progressing necrotizing ulcerative disease of the mouth), where erosion penetrates and damages bone, as well as milder erosive conditions; use of this formula will surely be effective.
Take one large Rhizoma Arisaematis Cum Bile (Datianxing), excavate a cavity in the center, place a piece of Realgar (Xionghuang) inside, wrap it with wheat flour, and roast it in fire. Wait until the Realgar melts into liquid, cover tightly with a small cup to seal, remove the "fire toxicity," leave overnight, remove the flour coating, grind into fine powder, add a small amount of high-quality Moschus (Shexiang), and sprinkle onto the sore.
Treats pediatric *zouma gan*, eroding lips and cheeks, causing loose and exposed teeth, and bad breath; extremely effective.
Xin Pi (Arsenic Trioxide, 1 fen) Fen Shuang (Calomelas, 0.5 qian) Ni Fen (Calomelas, 0.5 qian) Shexiang (Moschus, a little).
The above four ingredients are ground together until fine as powder. For each use, take an amount the size of a millet grain with a fingertip and rub it onto the affected gums; immediate effect is expected.
Treats pediatric *gan* heat, resolves food stagnation, and calms fright.
Shexiang (Moschus) Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis) Leiwan (Pill Worm) Heshi (Chrysanthemi Indici Fructus) Guanzhong (Dryopteridis Crassirhizomatis Rhizoma) Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (each 1 liang) Biandou (Lablab Album Seed, 14 pieces, fried in oil and peeled).
Except for Moschus and Indigo Naturalis, the remaining seven ingredients are pounded and sifted into fine powder. Further grind and mix evenly in a mortar. Form pills using pig bile and steamed dough, sized like mung beans. Take 5–7 pills per dose, on an empty stomach or at noon, washed down with rice drink. Adjust dosage according to the child's age; regular use is especially beneficial.
Treats pediatric *gan* heat and eliminates parasites.
Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis, high quality, finely ground, 0.5 liang) Xuanlian (Coptidis Rhizoma, 1.5 qian, made into powder) Kulian Gen (Toosendan Fructus Root, 3 liang, finely sliced, processed until dry, made into powder) Xionghuang (Realgar, 0.5 liang, finely cut, steamed three times, dried by roasting).
(Note: The text mentions "nine ingredients" but lists fewer explicitly in this segment). Grind all into fine powder. For each dose, administer 1 qian or 0.5 qian depending on the child's age. If taken with honey water, twice daily; taking with rice drink is also acceptable. This is suitable for regular use.
Treats pediatric *gan* syndrome causing biting heart pain, lying face-down on the ground, and vomiting clear watery phlegm.
Bai Binglang (Arecae Semen) Kulian Gen (Toosendan Fructus Root) Shiliu Genpi (Granati Cortex) Heshi (Chrysanthemi Indici Fructus) Lilu (Veratri Viridis Rhizoma).
Grind the above five ingredients into powder. Take 1 qian mixed with hot tea on an empty stomach. Adjust dosage temporarily based on condition severity. Avoid malt sugar and sticky/greasy foods. When *gan* affects the interior, there is abdominal distension and stagnation, variable stool color (sometimes indigo-like), and progressive emaciation; these are signs of internal *gan*. If there is redness and erosion under the nose, self-rubbing of the nose, sores on the head that do not scab, spreading around the ears, big head with thin neck; these are signs of brain *gan*. If lips are eroded, teeth show five colors or become dark/black, white sores appear below the mouth, upper palate lesions, foul breath, dry and rotting lips and teeth; these are signs of oral *gan*. If the lower orifices are open, dysentery with pus and blood occurs, sometimes red and erosive, unbearable pain, frequent uncontrolled discharge with unbearable odor; these are signs of suffering from *gan*.
