Haishang Formula for Treating Various Sores, Named "Saigezhi Gao" (Paste Rivaling Gezi), Cures Completely in Seven Days.
Ingredients: Huangla (Beeswax), Guanfen (Lead Carbonate). Take equal amounts and grind into fine powder.
Usage: Melt the Huangla on oil paper, spread it on the paper, sprinkle the medicinal powder, and apply to the sore. Immediate effect is observed.
Treating Si Kuai E Zhang Feng (Hyperkeratotic Skin Disease of the Hands).
Ingredients: Nen Huai Tiao (Young Locust Branch, 4 cun 9 fen long), Nen Liu Tiao (Young Willow Branch, 4 cun 9 fen long), Toufa (Human Hair, 1 chi long, 49 strands). Burn these three ingredients to ash while retaining their properties, then grind into fine powder.
Additional Ingredients: Chuanjiao (Sichuan Pepper, 49 grains), Qingfen (Calomel, genuine, 3 qian), Huangla (Beeswax, 1 liang), Xiangyou (Sesame Oil, 1 zhan).
Usage: First, boil the Xiangyou and Huangla until ripe, let cool, then add the Qingfen. Next, add the three types of medicinal ashes and stir evenly. Cut thick cotton paper into twelve pieces, sized to match the sore area. Apply the medicine thoroughly onto the paper.
First, wash the affected area with Huangbai Jingjie Tang (Phellodendron and Schizonepeta Decoction). Then, paste the twelve pieces of medicated paper layer by layer and secure tightly with a rope. Itching will be unbearable; remove the outer layers the next day. Apply ten layers against the skin, wash with the aforementioned decoction, then reapply for six days. Remove six layers, and complete recovery is achieved. This is an exquisite method for treating sores.
Treating Ulcerative Sores Between Toes: Use fresh Ezhanghuangpi (Goose Palm Yellow Skin), dry in shade, burn to ash retaining properties, grind into powder, and apply dry directly to the lesion.
Treating Frostbite on Hands and Feet: Decoct Dongguapi (Winter Melon Peel) and Gan Qiagen (Dried Eggplant Root) together. Wash the affected area with the hot decoction (effective within no more than three times).
Treating Re Chu (Heat Sores): Characterized by widespread eruption of pus and blood, redness, swelling, and erosion resembling Huodan (Erysipelas) or burning sensation.
Ingredients: Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome), Huangbai (Phellodendron Bark) (each 3 liang), Chixiaodou (Adzuki Bean), Lvdou Fen (Mung Bean Powder) (each 1 he), Hanshuishi (Calcitum), Zicao (Arnebia Root), Loulu (Lehmannia Vine Root) (each 7 qian).
Usage: Grind all ingredients into powder. Mix with Xiangyou (Sesame Oil) to form a paste. Apply three times daily until cured.
Treating Huodan (Erysipelas): Apply blood from the head of a eel to the affected area for immediate cure. In winter, if unavailable, crush snail meat, squeeze out the juice, and apply as an alternative.
Formula for Scalds and Burns: First, wash coldly with Lajiu (Aged Rice Wine) to draw out toxins. Then, take over ten eggs, boil them, remove the whites, and fry the yolks until charred black. Extract approximately one zhan of oil. Mix with 2 liang of Dahuang (Rhubarb) powder. Apply evenly to the wound. Complete recovery in three days without scarring.
Treating a condition caused by Qianliguang Cao (Senecio scandens): Take a large handful of Qianliguang Cao, a medium handful of Cang'er Cao (Xanthium Fruit/Herb), and a small handful of grass growing on the east-facing wall top. Place all in a bottle, add water, and boil vigorously for a hundred cycles. Moisten fingers with a small amount of Shexiang (Musk), use the bottle to fumigate the affected area, and tie silk cloth around the arm to prevent vapor loss. Fumigate three times for a cure. (Qianliguang Cao refers to Jinpancao [Senecio scandens]).
Treating Jiaodian Du (Corn/Callus Poison): Caused by walking long distances and being bruised by stones, leading to severe swelling and pain on the sole, making walking impossible. Urgently soak old straw shoes in a urine bucket for one night or half a day. Externally, heat a new brick until red-hot. Place the soaked shoe on the brick and step the swollen foot onto it. The heat forces the urine vapor into the body, reducing swelling immediately. This condition is not recorded in other formulas; if not treated early, it can lead to gangrene and death. This method is also applicable for foot swelling and pain after long walks (this method eliminates swelling).
