Treats conditions following sweating therapy for Cold Damage (Shanghan). If, after vomiting or purging therapies have resolved the pathogen, the Stomach Qi remains weak and disharmonious, causing deficient Qi to rebel upward, resulting in epigastric fullness and hardness, and persistent belching. Belching is commonly known as eructation. Zhou Yangjun stated: "I often borrow this formula to treat patients with regurgitation, dysphagia, and rebellious Qi that fails to descend, achieving miraculous effects."
*Inula Flower* (Xuanfuhua, also known as *Cirsii Japonici Herba*, Jinfeicao, 3 liang) *Hematitum* (Daizheshi, 1 liang) *Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma* (Renshen, 2 liang) *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao, 3 liang) *Pinelliae Tuber* (Banxia, half sheng) *Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens* (Shengjiang, 5 liang) *Jujubae Fructus* (Dazao, 12 pieces). This acts on the Foot-Yangming meridian. Cheng Wuji stated: "Hardness indicates firm Qi; the salty flavor of Xuanfuhua softens hardness to dissipate fullness. When fullness subsides, Qi tends to float; the heavy nature of Daizheshi anchors rebellious Qi. Daizheshi is red in color and heavy in weight, nourishing Yin Blood and treating symptoms like regurgitation. Pungent substances disperse. The pungency of Shengjiang disperses deficiency-related fullness. Sweet substances moderate. The sweetness of Renshen, Gancao, and Dazao tonifies Stomach weakness."
Treats obesity with excessive Phlegm-Dampness, leading to stomach rebellion and vomiting.
