For breech presentation, use one shed skin of Wushe (Dinodon rufozonatum), twenty-seven Chantui (Cicadae Periostracum), and a clump of Lanfa (Fetal Hair). Burn these three ingredients to ash, divide into two doses, and take with warm wine. After taking both doses, have the woman lie supine for a moment, and the infant will be born normally. Alternatively, prick thirty-seven times on the sole of the infant's foot with a small needle, immediately apply a little salt to the pricked area, and normal delivery will occur instantly, saving both mother and child (from Liu Yingshu's *Yi Wan*).
Another moxibustion method for dystocia: Zhang Wenzhong treated a woman with transverse lie where the hand presented first; various talismans and medicines were ineffective. For all miscellaneous conditions after childbirth, first use Shenghua Tang (Life Return Decoction) to remove blood stasis and generate new blood, then use Bazhen Tang (Eight Treasures Decoction) to greatly tonify Qi and Blood. Even if there are miscellaneous conditions, they should be temporarily disregarded. This is because postpartum conditions involve deficiency; only by tonifying Qi and Blood can the pathogenic factors naturally dissipate once Qi and Blood are restored, leading to peace and health. This is Gao Gugeng's theory, originating from Mr. Zhu Danxi. Contemporary physicians mostly follow this view, so it is preserved here.
Shenghua Tang (Life Return Decoction)

Scanty lactation after childbirth is due to insufficiency of Qi and Blood; Zhuti Tang (Pig Trotter Decoction) is indicated.
Sheng Huangqi (Astragali Radix, 1 liang) Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 5 qian) Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, 3 qian) Mutong (Akebiae Caulis, 1 qian). Take orally, then lie on one side for one shichen (two hours). When milk flows, have someone suckle to empty the breast. Remove dregs, and decoct again with the pig trotter broth.
