[Outline of Essence and Seminal Emission] When essence fails to interact with spirit, disease arises; once seminal emission or leakage occurs, the condition is generally not light. The treatment principle should be to warm the Kidney and calm the Heart Qi, regulating Yin and Yang so that the patient may recover.
Yuchi Tang (Jade Pool Decoction)
(Attached Syndrome) Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Fuling (Poria), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) are combined with Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus); Sharen (Amomi Fructus), Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Os Costae), and Muli (Concha Ostreae) are matched appropriately. This formula calms the Heart, warms the Kidney, and simultaneously strengthens the Spleen, allowing essence to interact with spirit naturally without emission.
Mi Yuan Jian (Secret Origin Decoction)
(Syndrome same as above) Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Renshen (Ginseng Radix), and Fuling (Poria) are excellent for tonifying Spleen Qi; Suanzaoren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen) and Yuanzhi (Polygalae Radix) are suitable for securing the Heart. Jinyingzi (Chrysanthemi Fructus), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus), and Shanyao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) are used together; Qianshi (Euryales Semen) astringes jointly, yielding miraculous efficacy.
[Outline of Spirit Alarm] When spirit fails to interact with essence, palpitations and repeated alarm occur. Gallbladder Fire flares upward taking advantage of deficiency, disturbing the Palace City (Heart), making it difficult for the mind to remain tranquil. The root cause of this disease must be clearly distinguished.
Jinding Tang (Golden Tripod Decoction)
(Syndrome seen above) Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) and Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) are suitable for unblocking Gallbladder Fire; Fuling (Poria), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), and Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) are good at supporting the Spleen. To secure the Heart, Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Os Costae) and Muli (Concha Ostreae) must be used concurrently. For syndromes presenting with spirit alarm, cure is highly achievable.
[Outline of Qi Syndromes] The Left corresponds to the Liver and the Right to the Lung; these must be clarified. If ascending and descending functions are improper, disease forms. Harmonizing the Spleen and Stomach is the sought-after method, allowing accumulated Qi in the abdomen to settle.
Dayu Tang (Unstagnating Decoction) (Attached Syndrome) When accumulation is located beside the umbilicus and on the left hypochondrium, Tongjing (unblocking meridians) with Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) and Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex/Ramulus) is particularly suitable. Sharen (Amomi Fructus), Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum), and Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) are fully included; Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Fuling (Poria), and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) can be applied together.
Xiaqi Tang (Descending Qi Decoction)
(Attached Syndrome) When stagnation is in the chest and right hypochondrium, Fuling (Poria), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus), and Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum) are administered. Only Bei (Bambusa Textilis var. Nana? No, likely Beimu/Fritillariae Bulbus based on context of clearing heat) and Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) are used to clear pathogenic heat; Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) and Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) are suitable for descending Stomach Qi.
[Outline of Blood Syndromes] Blood flows through the collaterals and originates from the Liver. Depression and anger arise immediately causing unrest. Obstruction (Bi) and collapse (Tuo) syndromes must be carefully distinguished; syndromes are classified into Deficiency, Excess, Heat, and Cold.
POyu Tang (Breaking Stasis Decoction)
(Attached Syndrome) For blood stasis that does not move, there is a specific prescription: Fuling (Poria), Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus), and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) are combined with Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens). Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma) and Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) are added to unblock collaterals; using Danshen (Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix) and Tao (Persicae Semen) to break stasis is the best method.
Xianlu Tang (Immortal Dew Decoction)
(Attached Syndrome) Epistaxis (nosebleed) not following normal pathways occurs due to Ministerial Fire rising and punishing Metal (Lung). Beimu (Fritillariae Bulbus), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber), and Baiye (Platycladi Cacumen) are used together; Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), and Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus) assist, proving particularly effective.
Lingyu Tang (Spirit Rain Decoction)
(Attached Syndrome) Hematemesis (vomiting blood) accompanied by lower Cold requires herbs such as Baiye (Platycladi Cacumen) combined with Fuling (Poria) and Danpi (Moutan Cortex). Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Beimu (Fritillariae Bulbus), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) are used; adding Renshen (Ginseng Radix) for deficiency makes treatment straightforward.
Guizhi Ganjiang Tang (Cinnamon Twig and Dried Ginger Decoction)
(Attached Syndrome) For hematemesis caused by Cold, another prescription exists: Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), and Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) are combined. Fuling (Poria), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) are added; using Muli (Concha Ostreae) and Danpi (Moutan Cortex) further enhances efficacy.
Baimao Tang (White Thatch Grass Decoction)
(Attached Syndrome) For hematemesis occurring during Heat conditions, Maogen (Imperatae Rhizoma), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), and Danpi (Moutan Cortex) are co-administered. Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum) and Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) should be used together; Beimu (Fritillariae Bulbus), Fuling (Poria), and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) must be applied jointly.
Huangtu Tang (Yellow Earth Decoction)
(Attached Syndrome) Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), and Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) are combined. Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) harmonizes them to form Huangtu Tang. Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) and Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix) are used together for superior cooling effects; this formula is excellent for bleeding via the large intestine.
Ningpo Tang (Calming Breakage Decoction)
(Attached Syndrome) Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) and Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini) are combined with Fa Hui (Ash of Hair). Fuling (Poria) and Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma) accompany them favorably. Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) are also suitable; critical cases of hematuria can be rescued.
Liujun Dihuang Tang (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill Decoction)
(Attached Syndrome) Shanyao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), Shanzhuyu (Corni Fructus), and Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix) are combined. Danpi (Moutan Cortex), Fuling (Poria), and Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma) assist effectively. It originally treats hematemesis due to Yin Deficiency; adding Baiye (Platycladi Cacumen) yields exceptional results.
Gancao Ganjiang Tang (Licorice and Dried Ginger Decoction)
(Attached Syndrome) The syndrome belongs to Yang Deficiency with Cold in the abdomen, causing dizziness and hematemesis with restlessness. Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) warms the interior, while Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) nourishes the Earth (Spleen/Stomach). Using this prescription to restore life is a miraculous elixir.
Danggui Buxue Tang (Angelica Tonifying Blood Decoction)
(Attached Syndrome) Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) specializes in tonifying Blood. Doubling the dosage of Huangqi (Astragali Radix) increases strength. In emergencies when other measures fail, this herb is necessary; it is a fine prescription to restore vitality.
