[General Verse] In Yangming disease, the qi sinks into the Spleen region; accompanied by dampness, it leads to external jaundice. If only fire pathogen injures the blood level, red macules appear densely and hyperactivity occurs at the Yang level.
Macules appearing red and purple, accompanied by fever and dry mouth/thirst, indicate heat in the blood of the Yangming channel. Jiajian Sanhuang Tang (Modified Three-Yellow Decoction) is appropriate.
Trichosanthis Radix (3 qian), Rhinocerotis Cornu (1 qian), Scutellariae Radix (3 qian), Phellodendri Cortex (2 qian), Stir-fried Gardeniae Fructus (3 qian), Cicadae Periostracum (7 pieces), Lonicerae Japonicae Flos (3 qian), Paeoniae Radix Alba (3 qian), Aurantii Fructus (2 qian), Armeniacae Semen Amarum (1 qian), Angelicae Sinensis Radix Caudex (3 qian), Gypsum Fibrosum (3 qian).

Gypsum, Armeniacae, Lonicerae, and Aurantii are gathered in one prescription along with Trichosanthis Radix.
Jaundice appearing bright yellow, accompanied by thirst and dark urine, indicates damp-heat in the Spleen channel. Yinchen Zhizi Tang (Artemisiae Scopariae and Gardeniae Decoction) is appropriate.

These four herbs can effectively remove damp-heat, achieving miraculous results without need for modification.
(Note by Bo An: Besides taking medicine, frequently boiling and eating Vigna angularis beans is also beneficial.)
Jaundice appearing dark yellow, accompanied by a neutral mouth sensation and no thirst, indicates cold-dampness in the Spleen channel. Yinchen Wuling San (Artemisiae Scopariae and Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria) is appropriate.
Cinnamomi Ramulus (3 qian), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (3 qian), Poria (3 qian), Polyporus (3 qian), Alismatis Rhizoma (3 qian), Artemisiae Scopariae Herba (3 qian).

[General Verse] Ancient texts state that night sweats belong to Yin deficiency, while spontaneous sweating is due to Yang weakness and deficient Wei Qi failing to secure the exterior. Understanding the mutual attachment of Yin and Yang requires thorough study of classical books.
