[注]
痘名断桥者,腰间绝无一点,惟身上下稠密也,
盖枭毒壅于上下,气血阻于中宫,故致上下隔断而成最恶之证,
宜用归宗汤攻之,使无痘处透出,方化为吉也。

Acne eruption on the chest is auspicious when sparse and mild; if they cluster densely and adhere to one another, it indicates condensation of pathogenic heat and toxicity. One must quickly administer Liangge Gongdu Yin (Cool the Diaphragm and Attack Toxicity Decoction) to prevent the fierce toxicity from attacking the interior.
[Annotation]
The chest and diaphragm are the regions governed by the Heart and Lung meridians. It is auspicious for acne eruptions to be sparse in this area. If they cluster here, it is named "Cuan Xiong" (Accumulated Chest), which is caused by pathogenic heat and toxicity. It should be primarily treated with Liangge Gongdu Yin (Cool the Diaphragm and Attack Toxicity Decoction), so that the fierce toxicity will not invade inwardly.
(Liangge Gongdu Yin [Cool the Diaphragm and Attack Toxicity Decoction]): Zhi Zi (Gardeniae Fructus), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Shi Gao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Jing Jie (Schizonepetae Herba), Zi Hua Di Ding (Violae Herba), Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus, bran-fried), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), Xuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix), Niu Bang Zi (Arctii Fructus, fried and ground), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Chi Shao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Bo He (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba), Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis).
Guiding herbs: Deng Xin Cao (Junci Medullia) and Zhu Ye (Bambusae Folium), decocted in water for oral administration.

The morphology of acne in the "Duan Qiao" (Broken Bridge) pattern is very unusual. There are no eruptions on the waist, while the upper and lower body are dense. This is due to obstruction of Qi and Blood and congestion of pathogenic heat and toxicity. Using Guizong Tang (Guizong Decoction) for vigorous attack is auspicious as it promotes the emergence of acne.
[Annotation]
Acne named "Duan Qiao" refers to a condition where absolutely no eruptions appear on the waist, only the upper and lower parts are dense. This occurs because fierce toxicity congests the upper and lower regions, while Qi and Blood are obstructed in the middle Jiao (Spleen and Stomach), causing a separation between upper and lower, resulting in the most malignant syndrome. It is suitable to use Guizong Tang (Guizong Decoction) for attack, allowing eruptions to emerge from the areas without acne, thereby transforming into an auspicious outcome.

The waist is the external manifestation of the Kidney; acne should be sparse. What if they form a chain-like ring around the waist? Treatment should focus on attacking toxicity without delay; urgently taking Guizong Tang can eliminate the illness.
[Annotation]
The waist is the external manifestation of the Kidney; acne should be sparse. If they surround the waist like a string of pearls, it is named "Yao Chan" (Waist Entanglement), indicating that toxicity is latent in the Kidney. Treatment should prioritize attacking toxicity, and it is suitable to use Guizong Tang (Guizong Decoction) for treatment.

Acne erupting on the anterior abdomen resembles bags clustering together; fierce toxicity conflicts with each other, and the momentum is rampant. Songji Tongsheng San (Songji Tongsheng Powder) should be used to vent the toxicity, and Guizong Tang (Guizong Decoction) for attacking toxicity is very effective.
[Annotation]
Acne erupting on the anterior abdomen, shaped like clustered bags, is named "Nang Fu" (Baggy Abdomen). This indicates that fierce toxicity is conflicting, and the momentum is extremely rampant. This area is close to the Zang-Fu organs, making it prone to internal attack by toxicity. One must first use Songji Tongsheng San (Songji Tongsheng Powder) to vent the toxicity, and then use Guizong Tang (Guizong Decoction) to attack the toxicity. This ensures clear boundaries of the disease site and loosens the roots of the acne, thus eliminating worries.
