[Verse] Dun Ju (Dun Carbuncle) often arises on the toes with pain; swelling is red and vibrant, discharging blood and pus. If blood is dry and essence exhausted, there is no foul color. It stems from rich diet damaging the Spleen and sexual excess injuring the Kidney.
[Note] This condition mostly occurs on the toes, occasionally on fingers. Excessive consumption of rich food damages the Spleen; excessive sexual activity injures the Kidney. Once the Spleen is damaged, blood production decreases; once the Kidney is injured, essence inevitably exhausts. Combined with abundant damp-heat, it forms. Initially, yellow millet-like small vesicles appear, with pain like scalding water or burning fire. The color is red and vibrant, swelling has no black halo, and upon ulceration, pus is discharged without foul decay. This indicates that the blood vessels have not yet died. However, although this condition lacks foul color, it originates from internal organs and should not be regarded as a minor toxicity. The treatment method requires urgently taking herbs to nourish Yin, rescue dryness, tonify blood, and regulate the Spleen. Initially, take Jiedu Jisheng Tang (Detoxification and Life-Sustaining Decoction) and Liuwei Dihuang Tang (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Decoction). After ulceration, take Renshen Yangrong Tang (Ginseng Nourishing Harmony Decoction) and Gui Fu Dihuang Tang (Cinnamon Twig and Aconite Rehmannia Decoction). Externally, initially apply Ketou Badu San (Tadpole Detoxifying Powder), before full ulceration apply Chansu Bing (Toad Venom Cake), and simultaneously apply Ba Gao (Ba Plaster). After ulceration and necrosis, change to applying Shengji Yuhong Gao (Flesh-Regenerating Jade Red Ointment) to regenerate flesh and close the wound. Moxibustion is strictly forbidden from beginning to end. Patients should cultivate a pure heart and reduce desires for regulation, thereby avoiding complications.
Formulas: Jiedu Jisheng Tang (see Tu Ju section); Liuwei Dihuang Tang (see Facial Freckles section); Gui Fu Dihuang Tang (see Facial Cheek Ulcer section); Renshen Yangrong Tang, Ba Gao, Shengji Yuhong Gao (all see Ulcer Section); Ketou Badu San (see Swelling/Ulcer Section); Chansu Bing (i.e., Toad Venom Pill made into a cake. see Ding Chuang/Carbuncle Section).
[Verse] Jia Ju (Nail Caruncle) is mostly caused by injury from trimming nails; overgrown nails invade flesh, breaking into sores. Hypertrophic granulation tissue protrudes, causing unbearable pain; resolving stasis and reducing granulation yields extraordinary effects.
[Note] This condition results from cutting ingrown nails injuring flesh, trimming nails injuring flesh, overgrown nails invading flesh, or wearing tight boots/shoes, leading to inflammation, swelling, and breakdown beside the nail, oozing yellow fluid, with hypertrophic granulation protruding, causing unbearable pain and inability to wear footwear. Originally, healthy flesh suffers trauma. It is suitable to wash with salt water, externally apply Huatuo Lei Xiao San (Huatuo's Repeatedly Effective Powder), cover with Bai Gao Yao (White Plaster). When the granulation disappears completely, it heals.
Formula: Huatuo Lei Xiao San
Composition: Ru Xiang (Frankincense Resin) and Bi Dan (Realgar) (1 qian each), Qing Fen (Calomel) (0.5 qian), Gan Lan He (Olive Pit) (burned to retain nature, 3 pits), Huang Dan (Lead Tetroxide) (0.3 qian).
Grind all into fine powder, mix with Sesame Oil, and apply.
