Nightmare (Guiyan) and sudden syncope are most harmful to people; urgently moxibustion on the "Guiyan" acupoint can restore vitality. The acupoint is located on the medial side of both big toes, approximately the width of a leek leaf away from the nail bed; after moxibustion, evil pathogens cannot survive.
Note: [1] For all cases of nightmare or sudden syncope, odd acupoints should be treated with moxibustion.

[3] Moxibustion on this point expels evil pathogens, and the illness can be cured (Figure 109).

For generalized edema and distension, odd acupoints can be treated with moxibustion above and below. The upper point is Guiku Acupoint, which requires no binding; the lower point is taken on the second toe of both feet, one and a half cun posterior to the toe tip.
Note: [1] To treat edema and distension with odd acupoints, the upper point is Guiku Acupoint located in the webbing between the thumbs of both hands;
the lower point is located one and a half cun posterior to the tip of the second toe of both feet (Figure 110).

For skin tags and various nevi, odd acupoints can be treated with moxibustion; additionally, purple vitiligo and white vitiligo can be treated. The acupoint is located at the middle finger joints of the hands, in the depression when the joint is flexed.
Note: [1] The odd acupoint for treating vitiligo, skin tags, and various nevi is located in the depression of the middle finger joints on both sides, commonly known as Quanjian (Figure 111).

For scrofula (lymphatic tuberculosis), garlic-partitioned moxibustion is appropriate. Begin moxibustion from the later-onset nodules, continuing until the initial primary nodule is reached. Applying abundant moxa fire yields unparalleled efficacy.
Note: [1] For garlic-partitioned moxibustion of scrofula, use a slice of single-clove garlic to begin moxibustion on the later-onset nodules, stopping at the initial primary nodule.
Moxibustion applied sufficiently will naturally yield results (Figure 112).

To eradicate bromhidrosis (axillary odor), first shave the axillary hair completely. Then, mix Dingfen (prepared zinc oxide) with water to form a paste, apply it to the affected area for seven days. If black pores appear, burn them with moxa.
Note: [1] For treating bromhidrosis, first shave the axillary hair clean with a sharp knife. Then, apply a good quality Dingfen paste mixed with water to the affected area. After six or seven days,
observe if there is a dark spot on the armpit; there must be a pore needle-sized or awl-tip-sized, which is the Qi aperture.
[2] Moxibustion with rice-grain-sized moxa cones, three or four moxa doses, will cure the condition permanently without recurrence (Figure 123).
