The aforementioned herbs are placed together in a clay pot, decocted with water into a concentrated liquid, and filtered through cloth to remove the dregs. The liquid is returned to the clay pot and simmered over low heat until thickened. Eight taels of red honey (Hongmi) are added, and it is further boiled into an ointment, which is stored in porcelain jars. Each time, take one or two spoonsful and dissolve in boiling water for oral administration. Concurrently, avoid anger and fishy foods. Alternatively, spread the ointment on thin paper and apply as a plaster; the scrofula will naturally dissipate.
