[Prescription Verse] Bai Bo Feng (a disease characterized by white patches on the skin) arises on the face and neck; wind pathogen contends with healthy qi, forming white spots. In severe cases, it spreads over the whole body without pain or itching. Treatment should employ dispelling wind and applying ointments for recovery.
[Annotation] This condition starts from the face and extends to the neck; the skin color suddenly turns white, resembling spots, without itching or pain. It is caused by wind pathogen contending within the skin, leading to disharmony of Qi and Blood. Treatment should be initiated early; if delayed for a long time, it may spread to the entire body in severe cases. Initially administer Fuping Wan (Duckweed Pill), followed by Cang'er Gao (Xanthium Ointment). Externally, scrape the affected area first with pieces of pangolin scales until dryness and pain are felt, then apply eel fat three times daily. Another method involves washing the affected area with warm water collected from tree holes; after washing, grind equal parts of Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin) and Ostreae Concha (Muli) into fine powder, mix with flour oil, and apply. Apply three times during the day and once at night; both methods are effective.
Prescription: Fuping Wan (Duckweed Pill)
Composition: Zibei Fuping (Hydrophylli Herba, select large ones, wash clean, and sun-dry)
Grind into fine powder, bind with refined honey to form pills the size of a bullet. Take one pill per dose, delivered with Doulin Jiu (Black Bean Dripping Wine).
Another Prescription: Doulin Jiu Method
Composition: Black beans (Heidou, Phaseoli Semen Nigrum) half sheng, stir-fried until smoke rises, pour in three jin of pure wine, soak for one day and night, remove beans, and use the wine to deliver the medicine.
[Prescription Verse] Fuping Wan is suitable for treating Bai Bo Feng; select sun-dried large purple-backed duckweed, make honey pills the size of bullets, take with bean wine, specifically capable of releasing the exterior and dispersing wind pathogen.
Another Prescription: Cang'er Gao (Xanthium Ointment)
Composition: Cang'er (Fructus Xanthii, fresh ones, including roots and leaves, take 50-70 jin, wash clean)
Chop finely, boil in a large pot until soft, extract the juice, filter through silk cloth, and further boil into an ointment. Store in porcelain jars. When using, scoop one spoonful with a mulberry wood spoon, hold in the mouth, and swallow with yellow wine. After taking the medicine, if there are areas where wind toxin exits, small sores the size of bean grains will appear; this indicates the expulsion of wind toxin. Pierce them to drain all fluid, and they will heal. Avoid pork.
[Prescription Verse] Cang'er treats wind pathogen invading the skin; when Qi and Blood are disharmonious, Bai Bo Feng arises. Use fresh Xanthium with roots and leaves, wash clean, boil into ointment, and take with wine for efficacy.
[Prescription Verse] Li Yang Feng (a dermatological condition) arises on the skin; the neck, chest, and axillae show no itching or pain. Purple and white spots connect but do not enlarge. It is formed by wind pathogen and heat binding together in the skin.
[Annotation] This condition manifests on the skin, mostly occurring on the neck, chest, and axillae. The color is purple and white, with connected spots, also without itching or pain. Compared to Bai Bo Feng, the shape is rounder and does not spread or enlarge. It is caused by wind pathogen and stagnant heat residing in the skin for a long time without dissipating. Administer Wushe San (Black Snake Powder). Externally, use roots of Rheum palmatum (Yangti Cao), combined with Sulfur (Liuhuang), grind with vinegar on an iron plate to make a thick juice, apply two to three times daily for effectiveness.
Prescription: Wushe San (Black Snake Powder)
Composition: Wushe (Zaocys, soaked in wine, 3 liang) Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix)
Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix)
Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix) (each 2 liang) Renshen (Ginseng Radix)
Shashen (Adenophorae Radix) Danshen (Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix)
Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix) Zhizi Ren (Gardeniae Semen) (raw)
Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex) Qinjiao (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix)
Mutong (Akebiae Caulis) Xijiao Xie (Rhinocerotis Cornu, shaved)
Bajili (Tribuli Fructus) Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma)
Zhike (Aurantii Fructus, bran-fried) Baixianpi (Dictamni Cortex)
Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) (each 1 liang)
Grind all into fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with warm wine after meals. Avoid chicken, pork, fish, garlic, wheat products, and hot-natured foods.
[Prescription Verse] Wushe San treats the excessive heat of Li Yang Feng; it contains Qianghuo, Fangfeng, Chuanxiong, and five types of Shen (tonics); Zhizi, Guixin, Qinjiao, Mutong, Xijiao; Bajili, Shengma, Zhike, Baixianpi, and Huangqin.
