[Prescription Verse] The syndrome of itching in millet-like sores (miliaria) belongs to fire pathogen. Wind pathogen invades the skin, causing lesions resembling millet grains. When wind transforms into fire, it causes itching. Treatment should involve Fangfeng Tongsheng San (Saposhnikovia Decoction for Unblocking the Exterior), Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix), and Xiaofeng San (Wind-Expelling Powder).
[Annotation] All itching caused by various sores is attributed to Heart Fire. When fire pathogen is internally constrained, individuals with deficient exterior are susceptible to wind pathogen invasion. Upon entering the skin, wind combines with fire to generate itching, resulting in sores resembling millet grains. These lesions are red; scratching exacerbates the itching. If left untreated for a long time, blood consumption occurs, leading to skin resembling snake skin. Initially, Fangfeng Tongsheng San (Saposhnikovia Decoction for Unblocking the Exterior) supplemented with Zhike (Aurantii Fructus) and Chantui (Cicadae Periostracum) may be taken. For cases where blood dryness causes intensified itching at dusk and insomnia at night, Xiaofeng San (Wind-Expelling Powder) is appropriate, applied externally with Erwei Baidu San (Two-Ingredient Antitoxic Powder). For chronic cases where the skin resembles snake skin, Zaogao Kushen Wan (Gleditsiae Sinensis and Sophora Pill) should be taken regularly. Externally, apply a mixture of pig lard (2 liang) and crushed bitter almonds (1 liang) for effective results.
