[Formula Song] Jinhou Feng (Tight Throat Wind) is formed by wind and fire due to excessive consumption of rich foods; it presents with swelling and pain in the throat, difficulty in speaking, a rattling sound like sawing wood due to phlegm obstruction, and needling Shaoshang (LU11) acupoint to induce vomiting and purgation.
[Annotation] This syndrome arises from excessive intake of rich and greasy foods, leading to accumulation of heat in the Lung and Stomach, compounded by external pathogenic wind. Wind-heat intertwine and obstruct upward at the throat, causing ulceration, pain, hoarseness or loss of voice, inability to swallow fluids, and a rattling sound from phlegm-saliva obstruction resembling sawing wood. The onset is sudden and rapid. Immediately needle the Shaoshang (LU11) acupoint located on the medial side of the thumb to release dark purple-black blood, thereby draining heat. If phlegm is profuse, use Tongyou Qian (Camellia Oil Probe) to induce vomiting. After expectoration, rinse the mouth with Gancao Tang (Licorice Decoction) to neutralize the toxicity of camellia oil. Internally administer Xionghuang Jiedu Wan (Realgar Detoxification Pill) to induce vomiting and purgation. Blow Baixue Sang San (White Snow Powder) into the throat. After the glottis opens, internally administer Qingyan Lige Tang (Throat-Clearing and Diaphragm-Relieving Decoction). Treatment according to these methods yields immediate results in favorable cases (Shun); conversely, cyanotic complexion, black lips, and cold rhinorrhea indicate unfavorable prognosis (Ni). If accompanied by circumferential swelling around the neck, it is named Chantou Feng (Coiling Throat Wind). Although its treatment method is similar to this syndrome, it remains dangerous and difficult to cure.
Formula: Tongyou Qian (Camellia Oil Probe)
Method: Mix four spoons of Camellia Oil (Verniciae Fructus Oil) into half a bowl of warm water. Stir evenly. Dip a stiff chicken feather into the oil and probe into the throat to twist and stimulate. Repeat four to five times until obstructed phlegm is expelled. Continue probing and vomiting until the patient regains consciousness and voice strength.
[Formula Song] Tongyou Qian method guides out phlegm obstruction, most effective for all types of Hou Feng (Throat Wind); add camellia oil to half a bowl of warm water, dip a chicken feather to probe and clear the throat.
Another Formula: Xionghuang Jiedu Wan (Realgar Detoxification Pill)

Preparation: Grind into fine powder, make pills with vinegar paste, size of millet seeds. Dosage: 0.5 fen per administration, taken with saliva.
[Formula Song] Xionghuang Jiedu Wan treats Jinhou Feng (Tight Throat Wind), opens orifices, relieves closure, and calms fire; composed of oil-extracted Badou and Yujin powder, made into millet-sized pills with vinegar paste.
Another Formula: Baixue Sang San (White Snow Powder)
Composition: Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum, calcined, 1.5 qian), Pengsha (Borax, 1 qian), Yanxiao (Natrii Nitras, 0.5 qian), Danfan (Chalcanthite, 0.5 qian), Yuanmingfen (Mirabilite, 0.3 fen), Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum, 0.2 fen).

[Formula Song] Baixue Sang San treats Hou Feng (Throat Wind) syndromes, addressing swelling, pain, hoarseness, and wind-fire condensation; composed of calcined Shigao and Danfan powder, combined with Yanxiao, Pengsha, Bingpian, and Yuanmingfen.
Another Formula: Qingyan Lige Tang (Throat-Clearing and Diaphragm-Relieving Decoction)
Composition: Niubangzi (Arctii Fructus, stir-fried and crushed), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus, heart removed), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus, raw and crushed), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, raw, each 1 qian), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas, each 1 qian).
