Passage:
For swelling of the chest and breast abscess (acute suppurative infection of the breast), moxibustion should be applied to Rugen (ST-17). The same method applies to infant turtle chest (pectoral deformity resembling a turtle's shell). For vomiting and acid regurgitation, moxibustion is applied to Riyue (GB-24). Dahu (KI-4) is specifically indicated for nocturnal emission.
Note: [1] Rugen (ST-17) indicates swelling in the anterior chest, breast abscess, and infant turtle chest. Needle depth: 0.3 cun; Moxa: 3 moxa cones.
[2] Riyue (GB-24) indicates vomiting and acid regurgitation. Needle depth: 0.7 cun; Moxa: 5 moxa cones.
[3] Dahu (KI-4) indicates nocturnal emission. Needle depth: 0.3 cun; Moxa: 5 moxa cones.
Passage:
Tianshu (ST-25) is primarily indicated for moxibustion treatment of spleen and stomach injury. It is particularly suitable for spleen deficiency diarrhea and dysentery. It also treats abdominal distension and zheng jia (abdominal masses). Increasing the amount of moxa heat will inevitably relieve pain.
Note: [1] Tianshu (ST-25) indicates internal injury to the spleen and stomach, bloody and white dysentery, spleen deficiency diarrhea, umbilical and abdominal distension, and zheng jia.
[2] Needle depth: 0.5 cun; Retain needle for seven breaths; Moxa: 5 moxa cones.
[3] The *Qianjin Fang* states: "The residence of the soul and spirit should not be needled; pregnant women should not undergo moxibustion."
Passage:
Zhangmen (LR-13) indicates pi kuai (abdominal masses). Moxibustion on the left side alone can eradicate the root cause. If treating kidney ji (renal accumulation) causing qi rebellion below the umbilicus, applying moxibustion to both sides simultaneously will naturally resolve the condition.
Note: [1] Zhangmen (LR-13) indicates pi kuai; apply moxibustion mainly on the left side. For kidney ji, apply to both sides.
[2] Needle depth: 0.6 cun; Retain needle for six breaths; Moxa: 3 moxa cones. Another view suggests 100 moxa cones.
Passage:
Qimen (LR-14) indicates ben tun disease (a condition characterized by the sensation of qi rushing from the lower abdomen to the heart and chest), rebellious qi, coughing with wheezing, and pain in the chest and back. It also treats hypochondriac hardness and pain caused by cold damage (Shanghan). When heat enters the blood chamber (uterus), needling this point is highly effective.
Note: [1] Qimen (LR-14) indicates ben tun with rebellious qi, coughing and wheezing, chest fullness, penetrating pain in the chest and back, chest pain with abdominal hardness, and heat entering the blood chamber due to Shanghan.
[2] Needle depth: 0.4 cun; Moxa: 5 moxa cones.
Passage:
Daimai (GB-26) is primarily indicated for moxibustion treatment of all types of hernia. It effectively cures scrotal swelling with descent (testicular enlargement and drooping) and mu shen (hard, painless scrotal swelling). It also treats turbid leukorrhea in women; once the dantian becomes warm, the discharge naturally stops.
Note: [1] Daimai (GB-26) indicates hernia with scrotal descent, mu shen, and red and white leukorrhea in women.
[2] Needle depth: 0.6 cun; Moxa: 5 moxa cones. (See Figure 92)
