[Formula Verse] Jiaoqi Chuang (Foot Qi Sores) arises on the feet and knees, caused by the interplay of Damp-Heat and invasion of Wind Pathogen. Symptoms include high fever, swelling, pain, and exudation of yellow fluid, accompanied by mental restlessness and irritability; Rhinoceros Horn is effective.
[Annotation] This condition occurs on the feet and knees due to internal entanglement of Damp-Heat stagnating in the skin and pores, compounded by external Wind Pathogen invasion, preventing free circulation. Consequently, sores develop on the feet and knees, presenting with itching, pain, and swelling. Upon rupture, yellow fluid oozes out, resembling Huangshui Chuang (Yellow Water Blister), but distinguished by systemic high fever and mental agitation, making it chronic and difficult to heal. It is advisable to take Xijiao San (Rhinoceros Horn Powder) internally, wash the affected area externally with Loulu Tang (Imperata Decoction), and apply Longgu San (Dragon Bone Powder) topically for excellent results.
Formula: Xijiao San (Rhinoceros Horn Powder)
Composition: Xi Jiao Xie (Rhinoceros Cornu Shavings), Tian Ma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix), Zhi Qiao (Immature Bitter Orange, bran-fried), Bai Xian Pi (Dictamni Cortex), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Bai Ji Li (Tribuli Fructus) [each 7.5 qian], Bing Lang (Arecae Semen) [1 liang], Wu Shao She (Zaocys), soaked in wine [2 liang], Gan Cao (Licorice Root, honey-fried) [5 qian].
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Take 8 qian per dose, add 1.5 zhong of water and 5 slices of fresh ginger, decoct until 1 zhong remains, strain, and take warm at any time.
[Formula Verse] Xijiao San treats Foot Qi Sores, containing Gastrodia, Astragalus, Immature Bitter Orange, Dictamnus Bark, Areca Nut, Zaocys, Scutellaria, Licorice, Saposhnikovia, Notopterygium, and Tribulus, taken as coarse powder with ginger as an guiding agent.
Another Formula: Loulu Tang (Imperata Decoction)
Composition: Lou Lu (Imperatae Rhizoma), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, raw), Huai Bai Pi (Morus Alba Bark), Wu Jia Pi (Acanthopanacis Cortex), Bai Lian (Paeoniae Rubrae Radix) [each 1.5 liang], Bai Ji Li (Tribuli Fructus) [4 liang].
Grind together into a coarse powder. Use 5 liang per application, add 8 bowls of water, decoct until 5 bowls remain, strain, and wash the affected area.
[Formula Verse] Loulu Tang contains Licorice, Mulberry Bark, Acanthopanax Bark, Paeonia Root, and Tribulus, used to boil a decoction for washing to urgently dispel dampness from painful, itchy, and weeping Foot Qi Sores.
Another Formula: Longgu San (Dragon Bone Powder)
Composition: Bai Long Gu (Fossilized Bones, ground), Qing Fen (Calomelas) [each 2.5 qian], Bing Lang (Areca Seed, ground) [1 qian], Fen Zhu Fen (Manis Swine Feces, dried on new tile, then calcined in fire until carbonized, then ground).
Grind uniformly. First, rinse the sore clean with vinegar water held in the mouth or warm salt water until healthy tissue is exposed. Then, mix the powder with sesame oil and apply according to the size of the sore. Reapply if not healed.
[Formula Verse] Longgu San removes dampness and necrotic tissue; topical application naturally cures Foot Qi Sores. With Calomelas, Areca Seed, Swine Feces, and Sesame Oil, it also eliminates long-standing malignant ulcers.
