[Formula Song] Injuries from falling and striking are common conditions; Fuyuan Huoxue Tang (Revitalizing Blood Decoction for Recovery) is the best choice. If blood loss has occurred, Bazhen Tang (Eight-Treasure Decoction) should be taken; if there is no skin breakage but blood stasis exists, Dacheng Tang (Great Achievement Decoction) is used.
[Note] This condition is divided into broken and unbroken injuries, and further distinguished by blood loss (significant hemorrhage) and blood stasis (blood stagnation). For ordinary falls or strikes causing only minor soft tissue injury with pain but no skin breakage, Fuyuan Huoxue Tang is used to dissipate stasis and invigorate blood circulation. If tendons and bones are damaged with excessive bleeding that does not stop, this constitutes blood loss; immediately apply Huarui Shi San (Flower Porphyry Stone Powder) topically to stop bleeding, and internally administer Bazhen Tang (Eight-Treasure Decoction) added with Jiuzhi Gusuibu (Alcohol-processed Drynaria Rhizome), Xu Duan (Teasel Root), and Honghua (Safflower). If a fall from height occurs without breaking the skin, blood stasis must have flowed into the zang-fu organs, causing unconsciousness and constipation of both urine and feces; Dacheng Tang (Great Achievement Decoction) should be used to promote bowel and urinary movements, after which the patient will naturally regain consciousness. If the bowels are open but the patient remains unconscious, Guan Du Shen Tang (Single Ginseng Decoction) should be administered for emergency rescue.
Formula: Dacheng Tang (Great Achievement Decoction)
Composition: Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 3 qian), Poxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus, bran-fried, each 2 qian), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Honghua (Carthami Flos), Mutong (Akebiae Caulis), Sumu (Daemonorops Spina), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, raw, each 1 qian).
Usage: Two zhong of water, decocted to eight fen. Take at any time. If stool is not passed within two shi (hours) after administration, decoct the dregs again, add three spoons of honey, and take mixed.
[Formula Song] Dacheng Tang activates blood and resolves stasis, promoting immediate bowel movement; it contains Poxiao, Dahuang, Zhike, Houpo, Danggui, and Honghua, along with Mutong, Sumu, Chenpi, and Gancao. If ineffective after decoction and ingestion, add honey to mix.
Another Formula: Fuyuan Huoxue Tang (Revitalizing Blood Decoction for Recovery)
Composition: Dangguiwei (Tail of Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 2 qian), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, 1.5 qian), Chuanshanjia (Manis Squama, roasted and powdered), Honghua (Carthami Flos), Gualouren (Trichosanthis Semen, each 0.7 fen), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 0.5 fen), Taoren (Persicae Semen, 17 pieces), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 3 qian).
Usage: Two zhong of water and two zhong of wine, decocted to one zhong. Take well after meals; discontinue when bowel movement becomes smooth.
[Formula Song] Fuyuan Huoxue Tang treats injuries from falling and striking, where evil blood accumulates causing stasis and pain; it includes Chuanshanjia, Chaihu, Honghua, Gualou, and Gancao, while Taoren, Dangguiwei, and Dahuang move blood.
Another Formula: Huarui Shi San (Flower Porphyry Stone Powder) (See "Hemorrhoids with Bleeding in Indeterminate Locations" section)
Bazhen Tang (Eight-Treasure Decoction), Du Shen Tang (Single Ginseng Decoction) (Both see "Ulcer Section")
