The *Qianjin Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) records: If the disease relapses after washing hands and feet, drink one he (approximately 100 ml) of the water used for washing; if the disease relapses after combing hair, swallow one piece of head dirt (scalp scale) the size of a jujube.
The *Qianjin Fang* provides a compound prescription for treating relapse caused by washing hands/feet or washing hair:
Take one he of the water used for washing hands and feet and drink it.
Another prescription: Take a piece of head dirt the size of a jujube and swallow it; if the piece is larger, take one large piece.
The *Yimen Fang* (Medical Gate Formulas) records: After recovery from warm disease (Wen Bing), one should lie quietly in bed and not rise early. One may comb their own hair and bathe. As long as there is no physical exhaustion, one should also avoid excessive speech or mental exertion to prevent relapse.
It further states: To prevent relapse, burn head dirt to ash, take an amount the size of an apricot kernel, and ingest it.
The *Yimen Fang* records: If sexual intercourse occurs within one hundred days after recovery from warm disease, while strength has not yet fully recovered, death is inevitable. (Note: The *Ge Shi Fang* states that other types of relapse may be treatable, but female-induced relapse often leads to death.)
Additionally, for treating men who engage in sexual intercourse after recovering from febrile diseases, resulting in swelling and retraction of the scrotum into the abdomen with severe colic pain nearly causing death:
Take the red garments worn during menstruation by women, burn them to ash, and administer one fangcun bi (a square-inch measure) orally.
Another prescription: Burn the pubic hair of women, and drink the ash with water; this is an extreme emergency rescue method.
The *Seng Shen Fang* records: When a woman suffers from epidemic diseases and the pathogenic toxins are not yet eliminated, if a man engages in sexual intercourse with her, the woman's qi leaks due to stimulation, and the toxin transfers to the man. This is called Yin Yi disease (Yin Exchange).
The *Ge Shi Fang* records: Even dozens of days after recovery from warm disease in men or women, if the blood vessels have not harmonized and heat-toxins remain, engaging in sexual intercourse will cause illness, known as Yin Yi disease.
Cut the skin from the vulva of a woman who had intimate contact with the patient, burn it to ash, and administer one fangcun bi orally, three times a day. If urination becomes smooth and the genitals swell slightly, recovery is indicated. Using tissue from a virgin girl is even more beneficial.
Another prescription: Scrape one dou of green bamboo shavings (Rhus Rhizoma / Bamboo Shavings contextually here refers to Qinzhu Ru, young bamboo shoot sheath), boil in two sheng of water until five or six boils occur, remove the dregs, and take as a single dose. This also generally treats various forms of relapse.
The *Qianjin Fang* provides a prescription for treating relapse due to sexual intercourse:
Take the clothing of the woman with whom intercourse occurred, place it over the man for the duration of one meal. The *Ge Shi Fang* and *Yimen Fang* agree with this.
Another prescription: Take ten fingernails/toenails from a woman and a chi (approx. 33 cm) strip from her undergarment belt, burn them to ash, and ingest with wine or rice juice.
