*Ge Shi Fang* (Prescriptions by Ge Hong) for treating dampness, itching, and skin desquamation under the scrotum:
Boil *Sanguisorbae Radix* (Di Yu, 地榆 root) and *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huang Bai, 黄柏) juice in *Physalis alkekengi* fruit water (Suan Jiang, 酸浆), and wash the affected area; this is highly effective.
Another prescription: Combine one sheng of *Platycladi Cacumen* (Bai Ye, 柏叶) and salt, decoct together to wash the area. After washing, apply *Pollen Typhae* (Pu Huang, 蒲黄) topically.
Another prescription: Decoct branches of *Styphnolobium japonicum* (Huai Zhi, 槐枝) to wash the area.
Another prescription: Chew seeds of *Cannabis sativa* (Da Ma Zi, 大麻子) and apply them topically.
Another prescription: Decoct *Xiang* (Fragrant herb, likely missing character in source) strongly to wash the area.
*Yi Men Fang* (Medical Gate Prescriptions) for treating dampness and itching under the scrotum, where scratching breaks the skin causing fluid exudation, leading to dry, peeling, and raised skin:
*Sanguisorbae Radix* (Di Yu, 地榆), *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huang Bai, 黄柏), *Cnidii Fructus* (She Chuang Zi, 蛇床子) (each 3 liang); *Cortex Styracis* (Huai Bai Pi, 槐白皮) (cut, 1 sheng).
Add 7 sheng of water, decoct to obtain 3 sheng of liquid. Wash the lesion with the warm liquid 3-4 times daily. Avoid consuming fish during treatment.
*Yu Fang Mi Jue* (Secrets of the Jade Chamber) states: Prescription for powder to treat dampness under the scrotum:
*Ephedrae Herba* (Ma Huang, 麻黄) (3 liang), *Cnidii Fructus* (She Chuang Zi, 蛇床子) (2 liang), *Paeoniae Radix Alba* (Xi Yao, 夕药/芍药) (3 liang), *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huang Lian, 黄连) (3 liang), *Oryza Sativa Glutinosa* (Zi Mi, 粢米) (1 sheng).
Grind into powder and dust it on the affected area.
Another prescription: *Zingiberis Rhizoma* (Gan Jiang, 干姜), *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huang Lian, 黄连), *Concha Ostreae* (Mu Li, 牡蛎) (each 5 fen), *Oryza Sativa Glutinosa* (Zi Mi, 粢米) (8 fen).
Grind and sieve to make a powder for topical application.
Another prescription: Apply [missing text] powder topically.
*Bing Yuan Lun* (Treatise on the Origins of Diseases) states: The symptoms of Tui disease (scrotal swelling/hernia) involve enlargement of the testicles/scrotum. It may temporarily subside, but remains larger than normal even when subsided. It is triggered by fatigue, cold, or rainy weather. Upon onset, there is distension, downward sensation of Qi, and abdominal fullness.
*Duan Ju Fang* (Short Drama Prescriptions): Mudan Wuzhi San (Peony Five-Hemorrhoid Powder) treats Tui Shan (scrotal hernia), where one side of the scrotum is enlarged, with Qi moving up and down, causing distension, wandering pain, and severe swelling that impedes movement. This prescription is highly effective:
*Moutan Cortex* (Mu Dan Pi, 牡丹 - remove heart), *Saposhnikoviae Radix* (Fang Feng, 防风), *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Gui Xin, 桂心), *Sojae Preparata* (Chi Shao/Dou Chi - fermented soybean, here noted as 'Ao' meaning roasted/stewed), *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huang Bai, 黄柏) (each 1 fen).
Grind these five herbs into fine powder. Take one Dao Gui Bi (a small measuring spoon) with wine. Cure within 20 days. This is the best prescription for pediatric Tui Shan. For infants, mix the medicine with milk to the size of a soybean for administration.
It also states: Male Tui disease is categorized into four types: Chang Tui (Intestinal Hernia), Luan Zhang (Testicular Swelling), Shui Tui (Water Hernia), and Qi Tui (Qi Hernia). Chang Tui and Luan Zhang are difficult to cure; however, Qi Tui and Shui Tui respond well to acupuncture and moxibustion.
Another prescription for male unilateral scrotal enlargement:
Moxibustion on Jianjing (GB21) and Guan Yuan (CV4) with 100 moxa cones each.
Another prescription: Moxibustion on Yu Quan (CV4 below CV4 by 1 cun) with 100 moxa cones.
Another prescription: Moxibustion on Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian points (50 cones) and Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian points (50 cones); this has been verified as effective.
Another prescription for sudden scrotal swelling in Tui disease:
Bring feet together and bind the two big toes so their nails face each other. Apply a moxa cone at the corner of the nail beds on both toes, ensuring the cone sits exactly between the nail corners. Let the cone burn halfway... (text incomplete).
*Qian Jin Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) states: Prescription for unilateral scrotal enlargement extending into the abdomen:
Moxibustion on Sanyinjiao (SP6), located 8 cun above the medial malleolus. The number of moxa cones should correspond to the patient's age (one cone per year).
Another prescription for treating Tui disease:
Take 20 willow branches (*Salix* species) as thick as a thumb and 3 chi long. Boil them in water until hot. Cover the swollen area with old cloth and felt. Use the hot branches to alternately press and rub the area.
Another prescription for Tui Shan causing unilateral scrotal enlargement and Qi distension:
*Moutan Cortex* (Mu Dan Pi, 牡丹) (1 fen), *Saposhnikoviae Radix* (Fang Feng, 防风) (1 fen).
Grind these two herbs. Take one Cun Bi (square inch spoon) with wine, twice daily.
*Ge Shi Fang* (Prescriptions by Ge Hong) for sudden Tui disease caused by jumping or lifting heavy weights:
Moxibustion on the depression lateral to the white flesh at the outer edge of the big toe of both feet. Place the moxa cone such that half is on the nail and half on the flesh. Moxa 7 cones. (Same as *Fan Wang Fang*).
Another prescription: Measure the width of the mouth using a rush grass strip. Use this length to measure around the middle horizontal crease of the lower abdomen, aligning the center with the umbilicus. Then moxa the two ends and the center (three points total)... (text incomplete).
Another prescription: *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma* (Bai Zhu, 白术) (5 fen), *Kochiae Fructus* (Di Fu Zi, 地肤子) (10 fen), *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Gui Xin, 桂心) (3 fen).
Grind these three herbs into powder. Take one Dao Gui Bi, three times daily.
