名之
Oyster Shell Powder (select those with a reddish hue, roasted) 1 jin, Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai, 黄柏) 1 jin, Pearl Zhenzhu, 珍珠 3 qian.
For turbid urine caused by damp-heat stagnating in the Middle and Lower Jiao, this formula is indicated.
Dryness can eliminate dampness, therefore Oyster Shell Powder is used. Bitterness can overcome heat, therefore Phellodendri Cortex is used. Slipperiness can remove adherence, therefore Pearl is used.
Cherokee Rose Fruit Paste (Jinying Gao, 金樱膏) 2 jin, Euryale Seed Powder (Qianshi Fen, 芡实粉) 1 jin (cooked).
Grind together into pills, size of beans. Take 70 pills on an empty stomach.
This is the formula primarily for Jing Zhuo (Essence Turbidity).
Cherokee Rose Fruit Paste is moistening and astringent, thus it can nourish the Shaoyin Kidney channel and secure against sliding discharge. Euryale Seed Powder is dry and astringent with a sweet taste, thus it can secure essence turbidity and prevent sliding discharge. Cherokee Rose grows on land, while Euryale seed grows in water, hence they are called "Two Immortals of Water and Land."
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, 人参) 5 fen, Chinese Yam Rhizome (Shanyao, 山药) 2 liang (stir-fried with ginger juice), Moschus (Shexiang, 麝香) 1 qian (separately ground), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang, 木香) 2.5 qian (roasted), Polygalae Radix (Yuanzhi, 远志) (decored, stir-fried), Poria (Fuling, 茯苓), Poria with Hostwood (Fushen, 茯神) (each 1 liang), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng, 桔梗), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) (each 2 qian), Cinnabaris (Chensha, 辰砂) 2 qian (separately ground).

This is a formula that calms the Shen (Spirit) and rectifies Zheng Qi (Upright Qi), thereby naturally securing the Jing (Essence). It is suitable for nocturnal enuresis during dreams.
Jing (Essence), Qi (Energy), and Shen (Spirit) are the Three Treasures of the human body. Shen commands Qi, and Qi commands Jing; this is the function of the Three Treasures. Therefore, when Shen is confused, Qi dissipates; when Qi dissipates, Jing scatters. When Shen is clear, Qi is upright; when Qi is upright, Jing is secured. This formula does not use astringent agents to forcibly secure Jing, but rather uses Ginseng Radix et Rhizome, Poria, Poria with Hostwood, Polygalae Radix, and Cinnabaris to calm the Shen, and uses Moschus, Aucklandiae Radix, Polygalae Radix, Platycodonis Radix, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, and Chinese Yam Rhizome to rectify Zheng Qi. With clear Shen and upright Qi, erotic dreams will not occur, and pathogenic fire will not arise. Jing will be secured without the need for astringents. The *Neijing* states: "If the ruler is clear, the subordinates are at peace; using this for health preservation leads to longevity and safety throughout life without danger." This is what is meant.

For turbid discharge from the lower orifices due to damp-heat in the Stomach penetrating into the Bladder, this formula is indicated.
Whenever there is uncontrollable turbid discharge from the lower orifices accompanied by thread-like strands, it is attributed to Jing Zhuo (Essence Turbidity), a disease of the Kidney. If there are no thread-like strands, it is attributed to Bian Zhuo (Urine Turbidity), caused by damp-heat in the Stomach. In this formula, Pinelliae Tuber is used to dry dampness in the Stomach. Poria and Polyporus are used to leach out dampness in the Stomach. Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Amomi Fructus, and Alpiniae Oxyphyllae Fructus are aromatic and sweet herbs that benefit the Spleen; benefiting the Spleen also helps control dampness. The bitterness of Coptidis Rhizoma and Phellodendri Cortex treats damp-heat. The astringency of Lotus Stamen stops sliding discharge. This formula is named...
