Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Gaoben (Ligustici Rhizoma et Radix), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Ganju (Chrysanthemi Flos), Mimenghua (Callicarpos Fructus), Juemingzi (Cassiae Semen), Huomaren (Hemp Seed), Muzei (Equiseti Herba), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum). These herbs are ground into powder equally. Each dose is 1 or 2 qian.
This prescription contains only acrid and dispersing herbs, lacking nourishing properties; thus, it does not conform to proper therapeutic principles.
Huanglian (Stir-fried Coptidis Rhizoma), Gancao (Prepared Licorice Root), Renshen (Ginseng Radix) 1 qian, Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) 1.5 qian, Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) 0.5 qian, Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Manjingzi (Viticis Fructus) 0.3 qian. Take after meals.
This prescription is superior to the previous one because it contains Renshen (Ginseng Radix).
Yemingcha (Phalangeris Faeces, washed clean), Chantui (Cicadae Periostracum), Muzei (Equiseti Herba, nodes removed), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, wine-washed) 1 liang, Yanggan (Sheep Liver) 4 liang. Pound and mash into pills.
Using animal liver to treat eye diseases can dissipate blood stasis and remove nebulae; therefore, this method is appropriate.
Tushi (Leporis Faeces) 2 qian, taken with tea decoction.
Using Tushi (Leporis Faeces) alone is interesting, but blood-nourishing herbs should be added.
Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) 4 liang (each ingredient 1 liang), Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) 5 qian.
When a pregnant woman falls ill, if the condition becomes critical, one may prioritize saving the mother over the fetus; otherwise, even in the presence of external pathogens, fetal qi must not be damaged. In such cases where there is exterior excess and no sweating, although the principle of releasing the exterior via the Taiyang channel applies, Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) must be used concurrently. This is the correct method.
Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Gancao (Licorice Root) 2 liang, Aiye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) 3 liang, Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) 4 liang, Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata) 6 liang.
Boil with 5 sheng of water and 3 sheng of wine until 3 sheng remains. Add Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) and melt it.
With Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) to nourish blood, plus Jiao'ai Tang (Gelatin and Mugwort Decoction) to harmonize Yin and Yang, this is an excellent method for treating metrorrhagia and abdominal pain.
Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus cum Uncis), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood), Renshen (Ginseng Radix) 1 qian, Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix) 1.5 qian, Sangjisheng (Taxilli Caulis) 0.5 qian.
It pacifies wind, clears fire, and unblocks sinews and joints. Its brilliance lies in calming and nourishing the heart spirit, thereby protecting fetal qi.
Lingyangjiao (Saigae Tataricae Cornu, shaved) 1 qian, Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Zaoren (Ziziphi Spinosomi Semen, stir-fried), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood), Xingren (Prunus Armeniacae Semen), Yiren (Coicis Semen) 0.5 qian, Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Gancao (Licorice Root) 0.25 qian. Decoct with ginger.
It pacifies wind and clears fire, which is highly appropriate. If Yiren (Coicis Semen) is omitted and Beimu (Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus) is added, it is also acceptable.
