To treat *Zilin* (painful and difficult urination during pregnancy) or urinary retention with heat in the Lower Jiao (Lower Burner):
*Semen Plantaginis* (Cheqianzi), *Caulis Akebiae* (Mutong), *Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae* (Chenpi), *Radix Angelicae Sinensis* (Danggui), *Talcum* (Huashi), *Poria Cocos* (Chifuling), *Herba Pyrosiae* (Shiwei), *Radix Paeoniae Rubra* (Chishao), *Areca Seed* (Binglang).
Decoct with plain water; take at any time without restriction.

To treat taking ten to several doses during the ninth month of pregnancy, so that near term there is no pain and delivery is easy:
*Rhizoma Codonopsis* (Renshen), *Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae* (Baizhu), *Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae* (Chenpi), *Pericarpium Citri Grandis* (Dafupi), *Folium Perillae* (Zisu), *Radix Angelicae Sinensis* (Danggui), *Radix Paeoniae Alba* (Shaoyao), *Cortex Eucommiae* (Huangyangtou - seven pieces). In spring add *Radix Ligustici Chuanxiong* (Chuanxiong); in summer add *Radix Scutellariae* (Huangqin).
Decoct with plain water; take at any time without restriction.

*Shutai Wan* (Fetus-Restricting Pill): Suitable for use when the fetus reaches eight or nine months.
*Radix Scutellariae* (Huangqin, 7 qian), *Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae* (Baizhu, 1 liang), *Poria Cocos* (Fuling, 1 liang), *Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae* (Chenpi, 1 liang).
Grind the above into powder, make pills using rice porridge paste, size of *Semen Brassicae* (Wutongzi). Take 50-60 pills per dose, on an empty stomach, delivered with boiling plain water.

*Shoutai Zhike San* (Fetus-Thinning Bitter Orange Powder): For frequent use after the ninth month of pregnancy to lubricate the fetus and facilitate easy delivery.
*Bitter Orange from Shangzhou* (Zhike, 2 liang), *Radix Glycyrrhizae* (Gancao, 5 qian).
Grind the above into powder, mix with boiling plain water for administration.

*Shenqin Wan* (Divine Sleep Pill): Makes the fetus thin and slippery for easy delivery; take after the ninth month of pregnancy.
*Resina Incensi* (Ruxiang, transparent quality, 5 qian), *Aurantii Fructus Amarus* (Zhike, 1 liang).
Grind the above into powder, make pills using honey, size of *Semen Brassicae* (Wutongzi). Take 30 pills per dose, on an empty stomach, delivered with warm wine.

To treat taking this before labor to lubricate the fetus and facilitate easy delivery:
*Radix Ligustici Chuanxiong* (Chuanxiong, 7 qian), *Radix Angelicae Sinensis* (Danggui, 1 liang). Another prescription adds *Aurantii Fructus Amarus* (Zhike) and *Radix Glycyrrhizae* (Gancao).
Decoct with plain water; when boiled, add one cup of wine and take.

*Cuisheng Jiasheng San* (Labor-Directing Add-Saint Powder): Use *Semen Abutilonis* (Huangkui Zi) stir-fried and ground into powder, mixed with warm wine for administration.
The poem says:
Thirty grains of seeds within gold, finely ground and mixed with wine for emergency preparedness;
When life hangs by a thread in an instant, this can save the whole family from tears.

To treat difficult labor/dystocia; if taken two or three doses in advance near term, it can lubricate the fetus and facilitate easy delivery:
*Radix Angelicae Sinensis* (Danggui), *Radix Ligustici Chuanxiong* (Chuanxiong), *Radix Paeoniae Alba* (Baishaoyao), *Radix Glycyrrhizae* (Gancao), *Aurantii Fructus Amarus* (Zhike), *Resina Incensi* (Ruxiang), *Calamistrum* (Xuyü).
Decoct with plain water and take.

To treat dystocia:
*Radix Saposhnikoviae* (Baizhi, not roasted), *Fuligo Silicea* (Baicaoshuang, equal parts). Another prescription adds *Talcum* (Huashi). Grind into powder, deliver with warm wine.

*Guixiang San* (Cinnamon-Fragrance Powder): To expel a dead fetus.
*Cortex Cinnamomi* (Guangui, 3 qian), *Moschus* (Shexiang, 5 qian). Grind into powder, mix with warm wine for administration.
