The human body has fifteen Luo-connecting vessels. I will now list them one by one from the beginning. The Luo vessel of the Hand-Taiyin (Lung) meridian is Lieque (LU7). The Luo vessel of the Hand-Shaoyin (Heart) meridian is Tongli (HT5). The Luo vessel of the Hand-Jueyin (Pericardium) meridian is Neiguan (PC6).
The Luo vessel of the Hand-Taiyang (Small Intestine) meridian is Zhizheng (SI7). The Luo vessel of the Hand-Yangming (Large Intestine) meridian is Pianli (LI6). The Luo vessel of the Hand-Shaoyang (Sanjiao/Triple Energizer) meridian is Waiguan (TE5). The Luo vessel of the Foot-Taiyang (Bladder) meridian is Feiyang (BL58). The Luo vessel of the Foot-Yangming (Stomach) meridian is Fenglong (ST40), which must be remembered.
The Luo vessel of the Foot-Shaoyang (Gallbladder) meridian is Guangming (GB37). The Luo vessel of the Foot-Taiyin (Spleen) meridian is associated with Gongson (SP4). The Luo vessel of the Foot-Shaoyin (Kidney) meridian is named Dazhong (KI11). The Luo vessel of the Foot-Jueyin (Liver) meridian is paired with Ligou (LR5). The Luo vessel of the Du Mai (Governing Vessel) is Changqiang (GV1). The Luo vessel of the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) is Wei Yi (Jiuwei, CV15). The Large Luo of the Spleen is Dabao (SP21). You must remember the names of these fifteen Luo vessels.
Gongsun (SP4) connects to the Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) and treats diseases of the stomach, heart, and chest. Neiguan (PC6) connects to the Yin Wei Mai (Yin Linking Vessel) and generally treats disorders below. Linqi (GB41) connects to the Dai Mai (Girdle Vessel) and acts in conjunction with it. Yang Wei Mai meets Waiguan (TE5) at the outer canthus. Houxi (SI3) connects to the Du Mai and relates to the interior of the neck. Shenmai (BL62) connects to the Yang Qiao Mai, and its Luo vessel also communicates. Lieque (LU7) connects to the Ren Mai and travels through the lung system. Zhaohai (KI6) connects to the Yin Qiao Mai and separates the throat (treating throat conditions).
The Hand-Lung meridian begins at Zhongfu (LU1) and ends at Shaoshang (LU11). The Hand-Large Intestine meridian begins at Shangyang (LI1) and ends at Yingxiang (LI20); this is the second group. The Foot-Stomach meridian begins at Lidui (ST45) and ends at Touwei (ST8); this is the third group. The Foot-Spleen meridian begins at Yinbai (SP1) and ends at Dabao (SP21); this is the fourth group. The Foot-Bladder meridian begins at Jingming (BL1) and ends between Zhiyin (BL67) [Note: Text implies sequence]. The Foot-Kidney meridian begins at Yongquan (KI1) and ends at Shufu (KI27). The Hand-Pericardium meridian begins at Tianchi (PC17) and follows Zhongchong (PC9). The Hand-Sanjiao meridian begins at Ermen (TE21) and continues from Guanchong (TE1). The Foot-Gallbladder meridian begins at Tongziliao (GB1) and ends at Qiaoyin (GB45). The Foot-Liver meridian begins at Qimen (LR14) and ends at Dadun (LR1). The Hand-Heart meridian begins at Jiquan (HT1) and ends at Shaochong (HT9). The Hand-Small Intestine meridian begins at Tinggong (SI19) and ends at Shaoze (SI1). This is the song describing the start and end points of the acupoints of the twelve meridians; students should engrave it in their hearts and remember it.
Remember the meridians that have abundant Qi and Blood: the Hand-Yangming (Large Intestine) meridian and the Foot-Yangming (Stomach) meridian. There are six meridians with less Blood and more Qi: the Hand-Shaoyang (Sanjiao), Foot-Shaoyang (Gallbladder), Foot-Shaoyin (Kidney), Hand-Shaoyin (Heart), Foot-Taiyin (Spleen), and Hand-Taiyin (Lung) meridians. The Hand-Jueyin (Pericardium) meridian has abundant Blood and less Qi. The Bladder, Small Intestine, and Liver meridians differ in this regard.
[Note: The text lists the twelve meridians with their corresponding Yin/Yang and Hand/Foot designations for memorization purposes.]
Shaoshang (LU11), Yuji (LU10), Taiyuan (LU9), Jingqu (LU8), and Chize (LU5) are connected to the Lung meridian.
