Formula for Making the Whole Body Fragrant:
Agarwood (Chenxiang), Musk (Shexiang), Sandalwood (Baitanxiang), Aquilaria Sinensis Root (Qingmuxiang), Linglingxiang, Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi), Nardostachys Chinensis (Gansongxiang), Pogostemon Cablin (Huoxiang), Asarum (Xixin), Ligusticum Chuanxiong (Xiongqiong/Bell Pepper root equivalent in context, usually Chuanxiong), Areca Seed (Binglang), Cardamom (Doukou) (each 1 liang), Cyperus Rotundus (Xiangfuzi) (0.5 liang), Clove (Dingxiang) (3 fen).
The above fourteen ingredients are crushed, sifted into powder, mixed with refined honey, wrapped in silk to form pills the size of a Chinese quince seed. Hold in the mouth morning and evening, swallowing saliva until the flavor is exhausted, then stop. Avoid the "Five Pungent Vegetables" (Wuxin).
Fragrant Powder Formula:
Aconitum Carmichaelii Lateral Root (Baifuzi), Poria Cocos (Fuling), Atractylodes Macrocephala (Baizhu), Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi), Ampelopsis Japonica (Bailian), Sandalwood (Baitan) (each 1 liang), Agarwood (Chenxiang), Aquilaria Sinensis Root (Qingmuxiang), Clove Bud (Jishe Xiang), Linglingxiang, Clove (Dingxiang), Pogostemon Cablin (Huoxiang) (each 2 liang), Musk (Shexiang) (1 fen), Rice Flour/Starch (Feny ing) (6 sheng).
The above fourteen ingredients are each finely crushed and sifted through silk gauze; select those parts that appear dark blue or black. Then coarsely crush and sift through muslin. Store in a powder pouch, place inside a large box, cover with powder, seal tightly for seven days, then retrieve. The fragrance will be at its peak and the color white. If intended as a fragrant powder, mix regardless of whether the raw materials are light or dark. Although adding fragrance may darken the color, they must be used separately and not all mixed together. The powder pouch should be made of double-layered finished silk.
