For those with weak constitution, administer one dose every three days, up to five or ten doses, until the pulse recovers. Sweating is desired after administration. Yang Su, Duke of Yue, suffered from lost pulse syndrome and was cured after taking five doses over seven days (This formula is named Zhigancao Tang [Decoction of Roasted Licorice] by Zhang Zhongjing; an alternative version uses 7 sheng of wine and 8 sheng of water).
