In the mountains, forests, and wildlands, when walking and encountering venomous insects or snakes, simply close your right eye, gaze at it with your left eye, and circle it three times. The spirits and ghosts will appear, causing them to prostrate themselves on the ground with their heads and ribs pressed against the earth.
Method for prohibiting tigers from entering the mountains:
I ascend and traverse the Five Prisons (Five Great Mountains/Hells in Daoism), preceded by the Piexie (Evil-Repelling) divine beasts, followed by Qilin (Kylin) and lions, roaring loudly and ferociously. Wild beasts and fierce tigers hearing my voice prostrate themselves on the ground, silent.
If you do not avoid me, I summon insect gods to kill you. Jijiru lüling (Execute immediately as per law).
Edict for prohibiting tigers:
Tianyi (Heavenly One), Taiyi (Supreme One), Li Er Boyang (Laozi), taught me to perform talismanic rituals to suppress and subdue tigers and wild wolves, making them hang their heads and plug their ears, hiding by the roadside, concealing their bodies and condensing their qi, fleeing a thousand li. The sons of one's maternal uncles (referring to protected persons or humans in general) shall not be injured. Jijiru lüling.
On the night of the third day of the third lunar month, burn incense facing north, hold your breath, and recite the following mantra thirty-seven times:
The sun rises in the east, shining brilliantly. I report this to you, snakes and insects: flee far away and hide deeply. If you do not hide, the stork and magpie will stride forward boldly, peck off your snake head, and swallow you into your intestines. Great snakes die, small snakes perish. Jijiru lüling.
Method for prohibiting snakes:
Mantra for suppressing the snake's head:
Yin adds Mao, Yin adds Mao. Recite three times, and it heals. If you wish to induce the release of snake venom, recite the mantra for suppressing the snake's tail in reverse: Mao adds Yin, Mao adds Yin. The snake venom will then erupt violently. Press the bitten area with one hand, and press the left hand with the other; all other conditions remain the same.
Another method:
Geng Yin Mao, Geng Yin Mao. Recite three times, and it heals. To induce its eruption, say: Mao Yin Geng, Mao Yin Geng, and it will erupt.
Another method:
Chen generates Si, Chen generates Si. The snake venom will cease, and reciting three times brings healing. To induce eruption, say: Si generates Chen, Si generates Chen, and it will erupt.
Method for prohibiting snakes:
One type is called She (Snake), another Chan (Toad), and another Fu (Belly). They dwell near wild marshes. The Fu snake of Mount Nan has males that are green snakes and females that are black snakes. The male is named Qilin Snake, and the female is named Jielei Snake. Rhinoceros horn, musk tooth, stork beak, wild boar tusks, peck the snake's belly until it is cooked; peck the snake's head until it rots. Centipede heads, poisonous bird feathers flying and calling out, why do you not quickly retract your poison and return to your native land by the south bank of the Yangtze River? Jijiru lüling.
Method for prohibiting snakes and敛 (collecting/retracting) venom:
Bright and radiant, the sun sets at the pavilion. With upright posture, spit away snake venom in all directions. The male snake is named Youyan (House centipede), and the female snake is named Maitreya. You came from the south of the river; river medicines break your poison. Exit quickly, exit quickly, retract your venom and return home. Jijiru lüling.
Another method:
Write this talisman with cinnabar. Hold it in your left hand, hold your breath, spit while prohibiting, and focus your eyes toward the King (deity/direction) to perform the ritual. My first spit opens the Heavenly Gate; my second spit reaches the Yellow Springs (Underworld). All evil poisons under heaven come before me. I now seize you; with one spit, I capture thousands. Jijiru lüling.
Shanque Snake, Shan Zha, Shan Qing Snake, Ze Qing Snake, Ma Snake, Jiao Hei (Black crocodile-like lizard):
The above six types bite humans without causing death but lead to disability and illness. Mantra:
I possess all prohibitions; mountains and seas may collapse. Nine types of evil poisons originally originated from the southern quarters, ordered to cross the north of the river, specifically intending to harm people. I accept the prohibitions of a hundred deities. Evil poisons originally from the south now come to the north of the river, ambushing and injuring people on the road. I prohibit from behind; you quickly retract your poison and receive orders for a thousand years. Jijiru lüling.
Baishuo Snake, Haoji Snake, Chi Snake, Huang Snake, Shui Snake, Qing Snake:
The above six types bite humans without causing injury; direct prohibition leads to recovery.
Zi Snake, Chiba Snake, Tu La Snake, Sha Li (Sand mite), Du Dao Snake, Bai Yi Snake, Wang Snake, Mang Snake:
For the above eight types of snakes, if bitten, medicinal treatment is required. Mantra:
A tree by the roadside, a hundred feet high without branches. Phoenix beak like silk. Go quickly, go quickly; I do not know. Jijiru lüling.
