[Shenfang for Huatuo's Treatment of Pus and Blood in the Ear]
Take one carp brain, one set of carp intestines (washed and finely sliced), three carp gills, and one sheng (approx. 600g) of black sesame seeds (roasted until fragrant).
First, crush the sesame seeds. Then, pound the remaining ingredients together into a homogeneous paste. Place the mixture in a vessel and simmer over low heat. Wrap the warm herbal paste in a cloth and apply it to the ear. After approximately two meal times, remove the dressing; white worms will emerge. If necessary, prepare a new batch of medicine. If pus flows from both ears, use this as one dose applied to both ears simultaneously. If only one ear is affected, divide the medicine into two doses. Recovery typically occurs within three applications. Avoid exposure to wind and cold.

Shengdi Huang (Rehmanniae Radix) 1 liang, Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix) 1 liang.
Add two bowls of water and decoct until one bowl remains. Take orally in one dose after meals. For external use:
She Xiang (Moschus) 1 fen, Chen Xiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum) 3 fen, Bai Fan (Alumen) 1 qian, Nuomi (Oryzae Sativae Glutinosi Semen) 50 grains.
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Use rice paste to form pills the size of wu zi (Cudrania tricuspidata seeds). Wrap each pill in thin cotton gauze. If bleeding occurs in the left ear, insert the pill into the right nostril; if in the right ear, insert into the left nostril; if in both ears, insert into both nostrils.

Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens).
Extract the juice by pressing and boil it down into an ointment for topical application. Do not roast with fire or soak in hot water, as this may cause tissue necrosis.
[Shenfang for Huatuo's Treatment of Ear Foreign Bodies or Parasites - Method 1]
Pound naturally dead earthworms with white necks. Wrap them in scallion leaves and seal the head with flour. Steam until heated and liquefied. Drip the juice into the ear until full. After several applications, the parasites can be easily extracted. Upon recovery, wrap salt in cotton wool and insert it into the ear.

Place gold or gold ornaments as a pillow beside the ear; the insects will crawl out on their own.

Drip blood from a rooster's comb into the ear to expel the insect. Alternatively, pour juice from crushed Chinese chives into the ear, which is also effective.
[Shenfang for Huatuo's Treatment of Insects Entering the Ear - Method 3]
Wrap salt in wooden leaves, heat it, and cover the ear; the insect will exit. Replace with fresh warm wraps when they cool. Alternatively, heat pork fat and place it over the ear to induce the insect to exit spontaneously.
[Shenfang for Huatuo's Treatment of Ear Parasites]
Roast hu ma (Sesami Semen), grind into powder, and store in a kudzu fiber pouch to use as a pillow. The insects will emerge upon smelling the fragrance. Alternatively, fill the ear with cow milk to expel the insects; they will appear partially charred. If insects have entered the stomach, consume one to two sheng of high-quality cow milk on an empty stomach. The insects will transform into yellow fluid and be excreted. If not fully expelled, administer again.
[Shenfang for Huatuo's Treatment of Ear Parasites - Method 2]
Burn scales of pangolin (Manis pentadactyla), grind into powder, mix with water, and instill into the ear to expel the insects. Alternatively, heat pig lard and place it at the edge of the ear canal; the insects will exit spontaneously.
[Shenfang for Huatuo's Treatment of Insects Entering the Ear - Method 4]
Inhale deeply, then exhale while closing the mouth and pinching the nose; the airflow will carry the insect out. Alternatively, instill soy sauce into the ear, which is also effective. One may also strike a copper vessel near the ear to create vibrations that expel the insect.
