Almond (peeled, tips removed, stir-fried and ground) 40 units; Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) 4 liang; Zisuzi (Perillae Fructus) 1 sheng; Jupi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) 1 liang.
Take the above herbs, add one dou of water, decoct until three sheng remain, and divide into three doses for oral administration.

Yuanhua (Genkwa Flos), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) each 2 liang; Baimi (Mell) 2 sheng.
First, grind the former two herbs into powder, mix with honey, and stir to combine. Decoct over low heat until it resembles porridge. Take one dose the size of a jujube pit at a time, three times daily and once at night. Increase dosage if diarrhea is desired.

Shu Gualou (Trichosanthis Fructus Praeparatus), Baifan (Alumen).
Crush Shu Gualou to extract juice, add honey and Baifan, and boil into an ointment. Hold in the mouth and allow to dissolve slowly; this is extremely effective.

Yuanhua (Genkwa Flos) 2 liang.
Decoct to obtain juice, filter out the dregs. Mix with Yitang (Malt Sugar) and boil into an ointment. Take a dose the size of a jujube pit each time; this is miraculous.

Renshen (Ginseng Radix) 2 fen; Gudi (Cucumeris Fructus) 3 fen; Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex) 5 fen.
Grind the above herbs into powder. In the early morning on an empty stomach, take one cun-bi (a square-inch measure) with hot water. One should expect to vomit phlegm-fluid and foul discharge of one to two sheng. After vomiting, resume eating white rice porridge. If phlegm-fluid remains, wait three days before administering another dose.

Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum) (peeled, tips removed), Hetao Rou (Juglandis Semen) in equal proportions.
Make honey pills the size of a bullet. Take one pill per dose, chew thoroughly, and swallow with ginger soup.

Sheng Dihuangzhi (Rehmanniae Radix Juice), Sheng Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix) each 3 sheng; Shengjiangzhi (Zingiberis Recens Juice) 1 he; Su (Butyrum), Baimi (Mell) each 2 he.
First decoct Dihuang, Maidong, and Jiangzhi until the volume reduces by one-third. Add Su and Mii, and decoct until resembling thin soup. Add Beimu (Fritillariae Bulbus) powder 8 fen and Ziwan (Adenophorae Radix) powder 4 fen, and stir to mix. Take one spoonful per dose, twice daily and once at night.

Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), Gualou (Trichosanthis Fructus) each 1 liang.
Grind the above herbs into powder, form pills with Jiangzhi (Zingiberis Recens Juice) the size of sophora seeds. Take 20-30 pills per dose with hot water.

Putuye (Leaf of *Tetrameles nudiflora*) (roasted dry).
Grind into fine powder, mix with rice drink, and take orally. Two qian will lead to recovery.

Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum), Taoren (Persicae Semen) each 0.5 liang.
Remove peel and tips from the above herbs, stir-fry, and grind. Mix with raw flour and water, form pills the size of sophora seeds. Take 10 pills per dose with ginger-honey soup. Stop when mild purgation occurs.

Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) 2 qian; Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (roasted), Zaojiao (Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina) each 1.5 qian; Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) 1 qian.
Decoct in water and take orally. Continue until cured.

This syndrome is often mistaken by people as excess qi, whereas it is actually deficiency of qi. Any slight error may lead to death. It is suitable to use:
Renshen (Ginseng Radix) 1 liang; Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix) 3 qian; Shu Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix) each 5 qian; Sheng Zhuyu (Corni Fructus) 4 qian; Gouqizi (Lycii Fructus), Bei Wuweizi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus) each 1 qian; Hetao (Juglandis Semen) 3 pieces; Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) 5 slices.
Decoct in water and take orally.
