Treats various diseases, especially those beyond the reach of conventional medicine and pharmaceuticals.
Cinnabar (Zhusa, 1 liang, preferably from Chenzhou, free of sandstone impurities), Fluorite (Zi Shiyu, 1 liang), Iron-derived powder (Tie Yin Fen, 1 liang), Realgar (Xionghuang, 1 liang), Arsenic Trioxide (Pishuang, 0.5 liang, preferably from Xinzhou), Silver Leaf (Yin Bo, 20 pieces), Gold Leaf (Jin Bo, 20 pieces), Taiyin Yuanjing (Taiyin Yuanjing, 0.5 liang), Musk (Shexiang, 1 liang, separately ground), Pig feces from a pig that walked southward on the Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu Ri Nanxing Zhu Fen).
Take the above ten ingredients. First, grind the difficult-to-crush substances into fine powder. On the early morning of the Dragon Boat Festival, finely grind each ingredient again, then mix them together and grind thoroughly until extremely uniform. At noon, use the tips of zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) from three to five households (the zongzi must be obtained on the Dragon Boat Festival day). Collect urine facing south as the binding agent. Form pills the size of chicken beans. In cases of severe illness, one pill can treat two people; for minor ailments, one pill can be divided into three doses.
First, prepare an unused yao (a type of small pot for decoction), place it over mild or strong fire to warm it up. Add Mercury (Shuiyin), and after a short while, add Sulfur (Liuhuang). Grind with a willow wood pestle until melted and uniform. Remove the pot, allow to cool, take out the mixture, and grind finely again. Then add the previously prepared medicinal powders, grind uniformly, and bind with urine to form pills. This medicine was originally called "Longhu Taiyi Dan" (Dragon-Tiger Supreme One Pill) due to the use of these two key ingredients, which were often kept secret at the time. The medicine remains effective over long periods, with its efficacy increasing with age. Store in gold or silver vessels, or in containers mixed with Cinnabar (Zhusa).
Administration methods (Tangshi) are as follows:
For poisoning by plants, insects, fish, birds, beasts, or fungi, dissolve the pill in warm wine mixed with child's urine (Tongzi Xiaobian).
For all drug poisons and "ghost poisons," administer as above.
For mineral/metal poisons, dissolve using wine poured over fried chicken or duck feces.
For plague (Wenyi), administer with decocted ginger soup.
For mania, running wild, and inability to recognize people, dissolve in ginger-honey water.
For "Madou Chuang" (smallpox/measles-like eruptions), dissolve in ginger-honey soup.
For Yin-Yang Er Du Shanghan (Cold Damage with Yin-Yang dual toxicity), after three days, dissolve in wine with baked green onions.
For five types of miasma (Zhangqi), dissolve with Rhinoceros Horn powder (Xijiao Mo) in wine.
For five types of gu poison, mix one he of fried black chicken feces with three qian of kitchen hearth soil powder (Zaoxin Tu Mo), boil in wine for more than ten boils, strain, and dissolve the pill. Take at dawn (wugeng), sitting on the bed with feet hanging down, not touching the floor.
For "Guijiao Humei" (spiritual/sexual disturbances causing mental confusion in men or emotional madness in women, or alleged ghost pregnancy), take seven peach kernels (Taoren), peeled and cored, finely ground, and taken with wine.
For "Guinie" (ghost malaria) in men and women, administer with pig bile wine.
For "Feishi Dunshi" (migratory corpse-poison or acute wandering pain), administer with decocted peach and willow branch wine.
For "Shizhu Guizhu" (chronic wasting disease or contagious "corpse transmission"), administer with musk wine.
For arrow poison, administer with mulberry root bark (Sangbaipi) wine.
For tiger bite or sandfly (Shashi) poison, dissolve Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao) and Coptis (Huanglian) in wine.
For "Biezhen Beibei" (turtle back/rickets deformity), dissolve Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao) and Musk (Shexiang) in wine.
For snake bites or tiger injuries, administer with wine poured over fried black chicken feces.
For entry of donkey saliva, horse sweat, or horse blood into flesh causing suffocation/near-death, take Leech powder (Shuizhi Mo) dissolved in wine.
For heart restlessness and qi stagnation, administer with gold-silver decocted wine.
For severe heart pain and qi collapse, administer with fried ginger-salt wine.
For constipation, administer with wine and baked green onions.
For urinary retention, administer with decocted Tetrapanax (Tongcao) soup.
For swelling/toxins entering the abdomen, dissolve Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao) in wine.
For "Xianggangjiao Chongxin" (gout attacking the heart), administer with bean-dripping wine (Doulin Jiu).
For inhalation of copper/silver smelter fumes into the abdomen, administer with wine and baked green onions.
For women's blood stasis and fainting (postpartum hemorrhage/shock), administer with decocted Angelica Sinensis (Danggui) wine.
For acute wind-stroke in men and women, administer with wine poured over fried black chicken feces. (If jaw is locked and mouth cannot open, rub raw Pinellia (Banxia) powder on gums and apply to jaw joints to open mouth, then force-feed).
For "Xinfeng" (heart wind/cardiac/neurological disorder), take one live Earthworm (Dilong), place inside a raw scallion tube, grind together until mushy, add a little wine, filter, and take one cup.
For "Toufeng" (head wind/headache), dissolve in decocted Goji berry (Gouqi) wine.
For throat closure and obstruction, dissolve in mint (Bohe) wine and swallow slowly.
For 120 types of wind-pain, administer with burdock seed (Niuziqi) wine. To cure the root, divide one pill into two doses: one empty stomach, one before sleep.
In case of sudden death, dissolve in cow/horse dung filtrate. If not revived, repeat with child's urine and wine.
For death by fright, administer with musk wine.
For death by nightmare/suffocation, dissolve in fresh well water with kitchen hearth soil powder, and blow nasal powder (Chuibi San) into nostrils. Do not shout; if there is light, do not extinguish it; if no light, do not ignite it.
For heat stroke death with bleeding from mouth/nose, administer with cow/yellow wine. Also, pour urine on hot ashes and apply to the heart area; replace when cold.
For drowning, after removing water, place two pills made of fresh well water and Pinellia (Banxia) powder into the nostrils, then administer with mugwort ash wine.
For hanging/suicide, untie slowly without cutting the rope. Dissolve in wine with rooster comb blood (Jiguan Xue) and child's urine. Men use female rooster comb blood; women use male rooster comb blood. Also, grind the pill with rooster comb blood and apply to the throat. Then, have four people blow air simultaneously through small bamboo tubes into both ears and nostrils. After revival, continue medication for ten days.
For any fatal malignant disease, if the heart area is still warm, rescue is possible even after a long time. Administer medicine, support the patient to let the medicine circulate, and they will revive.
All pills should be taken on an empty stomach, facing east. For severe cases, no more than two doses are needed. For acute conditions, first dissolve in warm wine and child's urine, then follow the specific administration method for the disease. If the condition is severe and requires vomiting/diarrhea, take one full pill. If vomiting/diarrhea is excessive, stop immediately by taking one qian of Mung Bean (Lvdou) powder mixed with water. Avoid hot food, white beef, and all foul-smelling substances. Pregnant women must not take this medicine.
