[Shinra Baftuzi Wan (Korean White Aconite Pill)]
Take one liang of Shinra Baftuzi (Typhonii Rhizoma, sourced from Silla/Korea), wash it with hot water, and remove the skin; take half a liang of Banxia (Pinelliae Tuber).
For these two ingredients, soak each in boiling water for three days, changing the water three times daily. Remove them, dry them by baking, and grind them into fine powder. Add fresh ginger juice and two qian of minced ginger, boil, and mix with starch paste to form pills the size of mung beans. Take three pills per dose, swallowing them with warm millet broth.
Indicated for pediatric slow convulsion syndrome (Man Jing Feng), muscle spasms, and conditions resembling epilepsy.
[Niu Huang Zhusha Wan (Coral Reed and Cinnabar Pill)]
Scorpion tail tips (21 pieces), Niu Huang (Calculus Bovis, half a qian), Shexiang (Moschus, half a liang), Xionghuang (Realgar, a small amount), Zhusha (Cinnabar, one qian), Hei Fuzi Jian (Tip of Black Processed Aconite Root, three pieces), Badou (Crotonis Fructus, one seed, peeled and oil removed).
Grind these seven ingredients together until uniform and powdery. Mix with steamed garlic dough to form pills the size of radish seeds. Administer one pill with a strong decoction of Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba). Cover the patient with blankets; after a short while, when sweating occurs, the condition can be cured. If the child experiences spasms and cannot open their mouth, immediately crush Ruoliucao (a local herb) and garlic with salt, apply one pill to the back center of the child's chest, cover it with the previously steamed garlic dough, secure it tightly with a cloth bandage, and administer another pill. Dissolve this pill, add a small amount of Shexiang (Moschus), and swallow with a decoction. Upon sensing the garlic aroma internally and experiencing whole-body sweating, immediate recovery occurs. This formula should be prepared on the Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu); avoid exposure to chickens, dogs, and women.
[Rusheng Qingjin Wan (Like-Sage Green Gold Pill)]
Indicated for pediatric febrile body heat, sudden vomiting and regurgitation, night terrors, lingering unresolved symptoms, constipation or diarrhea evolving into slow convulsion syndrome, or presenting as malnutrition syndromes (Gan Ji). It stabilizes spasms, treats Gan diseases, resolves phlegm, and calms the spirit.
Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum, one qian), Shexiang (Moschus, one fen), Xiangmo (Scented Ink, one and a half qian), Nifen (Calomel, one qian), Baifan (White Flour, three qian), Shijunzi (Quisqualis Fructus, two pieces, wrapped in white flour and slow-roasted).
Grind these nine ingredients finely together. Add well water dropwise to form pills the size of chicken beans. For slow convulsion syndrome, dissolve one pill in mint water and administer. After ingestion, the child will fall asleep shortly and recover upon waking. Subsequent doses of two or three may be given. For minor convulsions or acute convulsion syndrome, administer less than half a pill. In cases of slow convulsion syndrome, administering the medication results in the discharge of approximately one he of phlegm via stool, yielding miraculous effects.
