[Guizhi Jia Fuzi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction with Added Aconite)] Treats Taiyang disease (disease of the Taiyang channel) where, after inducing sweating, perspiration continues unceasingly. The patient experiences aversion to wind, difficulty in urination, slight stiffness and tension in the four limbs, making flexion and extension difficult. This decoction is suitable for administration.
Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig, peeled), Shaoyao (Peony Root) (each 1 liang 5 qian), Gancao (Licorice Root) (2 liang), Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root, processed, peeled, half a piece).
Crush the herbs to the size of hemp seeds. Take 5 qian per dose. Add 4 slices of Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger), 1 Zaozi (Jujube). Add 1.5 zhen of water, boil until reduced to 0.8 zhen. Remove dregs and take warm.
[Xinjiatang (Newly Modified Decoction) of Guizhi, Shaoyao, Shengjiang, and Renshen] Treats body pain after inducing sweating, accompanied by a slow pulse. This decoction is indicated for this condition.
Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig), Renshen (Ginseng Root) (each 1 liang 5 qian), Shaoyao (Peony Root) (2 liang), Gancao (Licorice Root, honey-fried) (1 liang).
[Baji Wan (Morinda Pill)] Treats deficiency of both Liver and Kidney. It consolidates essence and qi, tonifies True Yang, enriches and beautifies the skin, and improves appetite.
Baizhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome), Wuweizi (Schisandra Fruit), Chuan Bajitian (Morinda Officinalis Root, heart removed), Huixiang (Fennel Fruit, stir-fried).
Shudihuang (Prepared Rehmannia Root), Roucongrong (Cistanche Stem), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Fupenzi (Raspberry).
Tusizi (Dodder Seed, wine-soaked), Muli (Oyster Shell), Yizhiren (Alpinia Oxyphylla Fruit), Gusuibu (Drynaria Rhizome).
Bailonggu (Fossilized Bone, each 2 liang).
Grind the above thirteen ingredients into fine powder. Make pills with honey, sized like paulownia seeds. Bake dry. Take 30 pills per dose before meals, washed down with rice water. Take three times daily.
[Shenzhu Dan (Divine Pearl Pill)] Treats weakness of Yuan Qi (Original Qi) in the Lower Jiao (Lower Burner), abdominal pain, dry and rough skin, and frequent or clear urination. The *Pathogenesis* states: "Clear and cold fluids all belong to Cold." This refers to that condition. Also known as Lizhu Dan (Separate Pearl Pill).
Duzhong (Eucommia Bark, stir-fried, 2 liang), Bixie (Dioscorea Hypoglauca Rhizome, 2 liang), Hezi (Chebula Fruit, 5 pieces), Longgu (Fossilized Bone, 1 liang).
Poguzhi (Cistanche/Dodder seed alias, often Cistanche or Cuscuta, here likely Cuscuta or similar tonic, stir-fried, 3 liang), Hutaoren (Walnut Kernel, 120 pieces), Bajitian (Morinda Officinalis Root, 2 liang), Sharen (Amomum Fruit, half liang).
Zhusha (Cinnabar, 1 liang, separately ground).
Grind the above nine ingredients into fine powder. Make pills with wine paste, sized like paulownia seeds. Coat with Zhusha (Cinnabar). Take 30 pills per dose on an empty stomach, washed down with warm wine or salted water. If Qi transformation fails and urination is obstructed, skin is warm and smooth, heat steaming is slight, Yin Qi does not transform, Qi moves causing spontaneous urination, and skin is dry and rough, this is due to forced leakage of fluids that cannot be retained; Lizhu Dan is indicated. If the pulse is Wiry-Rapid (Xuan-Shu), it indicates Yang sinking inside, pathogen moving from exterior to interior. Wiry with Rapid indicates Wood ending at Wood. Tight with Surging indicates Water ending at Fire. If Wiry and Deficient, there is no Fire; if Fine, there is Water. These two pulses indicate disease moving from interior to exterior; Lizhu Dan is not suitable.
