On the day preceding the *Bailu* (White Dew) solar term, before the *Wei* hour (13:00–15:00), sprinkle clean water over the crops in the fields. On the following day, during the *Yin* hour (03:00–05:00), drag and unfold a washed white cloth to collect the dew from the tips of the grain heads, stir it down, and store it in a new porcelain bottle for long-term preservation. It does not spoil even after long storage; its fragrance is sweet and it quenches thirst, making it excellent for treating various heat-dryness conditions. Daoist cultivators call it "Wuwei Oil" (Non-action Oil). For ingestion, practitioners place a *Fangzhu* (an ancient vessel used for collecting dew) inside an urn or basin to collect it.
In the twelfth lunar month (*Layue*), store clean snow in a pure bottle, pack it tightly, seal the bottle mouth, and place it in a cool room away from sunlight. During summer, when encountering irritability, heat, and thirst, drinking this can effectively resolve heat toxicity, surpassing the effect of ordinary cooling medicines. Every household should preserve it.
Boil the silk from silkworm cocoons, collect the decoction in a porcelain bottle, seal it tightly, and bury it in clean soil. Regardless of how many years pass, the longer it ages, the more miraculous it becomes. It is highly effective in treating epidemics and severe *Xiaoke* (Wasting-Thirst syndrome, characterized by excessive thirst and urination) caused by heat diseases that cannot be stopped. Drinking it cold several times will stop the symptoms.
After the *Shuangjiang* (Frost Descent) solar term, harvest *Jinyingzi* (Fructus Rosae Laevigatae, Chinese Medlar Fruit) without limit on quantity. Lightly crush them in a coarse vessel to remove hairs and thorns, then wash them clean. Crush them again to remove the seeds, yielding approximately one *dou* (a unit of volume). Add two *dou* of water and boil for the duration of cooking a meal. Strain out the clear juice, add fresh water, boil again, and strain. Repeat adding water and boiling until, after three times, the dregs become pale and tasteless, at which point discard the dregs. Filter the remaining clear juice through fine silk gauze until clean. Boil in a pot until it reaches the consistency of *Yitang* (maltose syrup). Store in a porcelain jar, place the jar in cool water overnight, and use the resulting paste. This paste strongly secures essence (*Jing*). The renowned formula *Erxian Dan* (Two Immortals Pill) is made by adding *Qianshi* powder (Euryales Semen, Foxnut) to this paste. As for its effects in stopping cough and diarrhea, and tonifying the Spleen and Kidney, only physicians would know.
Use *Wenge* (Venerable Clam Shell, *Cyclinae Concha*) without limit on quantity, grind into powder. For every *jin* (approx. 500g) of powder, mix with three *ge* (approx. 54ml) of glutinous rice flour. Moisten appropriately with warm water, shape into cakes, wrap with *Huangjing* leaves (*Vitex rotundifolia* leaves), leave for three days to remove the leaves, air-dry for one day, then cover and store when dry. It stops cough and generates fluids, with very rapid efficacy. The best time for preparation is the sixth lunar month.
Another method:
During the sixth lunar month, use five *jin* of *Wenge* and two *liang* (approx. 60g) of sprouted tea. Grind finely into powder; no need to sift. Place both ingredients into a new wooden bucket. Soak with cool water until the water level exceeds the material by the width of a palm. Cover tightly with a wooden lid. By the seventh lunar month, when the water has dried, white mold grows on the surface. Mash it thoroughly with a wooden pestle, then cover again. After several days, when it can be rubbed between fingers without granular residue, shape into cakes, sun-dry, and keep for use.
