Whenever a woman experiences habitual miscarriage during the second or third month of pregnancy, it is termed "minor abortion" (Xiao Chan). This condition generally arises from weak constitution and deficiency of both Qi and Blood, excessive internal fire in the Zang-Fu organs, and heat in the Blood aspect, leading to such outcomes. Physicians often state that using warm-tonifying herbs like Ai Ye (Mugwort Leaf), Xiang Fu (Cyperus Rhizome), and Sha Ren (Amomum Fruit) for fetal stabilization increases misfortune and accelerates miscarriage. It is unknown that when Qi and Blood are clear and harmonious, without the scorching effect of fire, the fetus naturally remains stable and secure. Qi deficiency fails to hold the fetus, while Blood heat causes reckless bleeding; how can one expect no miscarriage? Although Xiang Fu is said to promote Qi movement and relieve depression, excessive use damages righteous Qi; Sha Ren promotes Spleen Qi, but excessive use also depletes true Qi. Moreover, their aromatic-dry nature injures both Qi and Blood; seeking to stabilize the fetus with them actually damages the fetus and causes miscarriage. Currently, only Qianjin Baoyun Wan (Thousand Gold Pregnancy Preservation Pill) and Taishan Panshi San (Mount Tai Porphyry Powder) can achieve miraculous effects akin to creation, with hundred percent efficacy and no failure. I hereby present them for the knowledge of benevolent gentlemen who cherish life.
Qianjin Baoyun Wan (Thousand Gold Pregnancy Preservation Pill): Treats women with pregnancy who habitually suffer minor abortions; taking this prevents miscarriage.
Du Zhong (Eucommiae Cortex, four liang, stir-fried with glutinous rice until fibers break) Chuan Xu Duan (Dipsaci Radix, washed with wine, two liang)
Grind the above into powder, use paste made from boiled Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) as a binder to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take eighty-five pills each time, swallowed with rice water on an empty stomach. Avoid alcohol and vinegar, and refrain from anger.
Taishan Panshi Fang (Mount Tai Porphyry Formula): Treats women with deficiency of both Qi and Blood, frail constitution, or obesity without solidity, or emaciation with Blood heat, or weak Spleen-Stomach function with poor appetite, fatigue in the four limbs, and a history of miscarriage. This formula is mild and tonifies both Qi and Blood. If heat in the Spleen-Stomach is felt, double the amount of Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix) and reduce Sha Ren (Amomi Fructus); if Stomach weakness is felt, increase Sha Ren and reduce Huang Qin. Furthermore, one should abstain from sexual desire and anger, avoid alcohol, sour, pungent, and hot foods, to permanently ensure no miscarriage.
