This formula originated from Shangyang Zi and was passed to Zuo Qiuming of Ludongmen, Du Zixia, and Zuo Taichong. All these sages had eye ailments and were cured by this formula.
Night reading requires: 1. Reducing thoughts/worry, 2. Focusing internal gaze, 3. Simplifying external gaze, 4. Rising late in the morning, 5. Sleeping early at night.
These six items are "cooked" by divine fire, stored in the chest with Qi drink for seven days, then applied to the heart/mind area for cultivation. One can count eyelashes up close and see distant objects clearly. Long-term practice not only brightens eyes but also prolongs life.
One Method: Regulate alcohol and sexual activity, keep warm sleeping at winter nights. Upon waking, open eyes and rotate eyeballs forty-nine times. Never suffer from eye diseases again.
