Guiku Acupoint (Crying Ghost Point): Bind the two thumbs together and secure them. Apply moxa cones on the seam between the nails, ensuring that heat is applied to the flesh at the posterior corners of both nail angles. If one side does not receive heat, the treatment will be ineffective.
This method treats Qi and Blood deficiency caused by the Five Exhaustions and Seven Injuries in men and women, including bone-steaming tidal fever (bone-steaming sensation with afternoon/evening fever), cough with phlegm and wheezing, five-palm heat (heat sensation in palms, soles, and chest), limb fatigue and weakness, emaciation, and haggard appearance. It is suitable for all these conditions.
**First Pair of Points:** Have the patient stand upright with weight evenly distributed. Take a waxed thread to prevent stretching or shrinking. Place one end firmly against the sole of the foot on the left side for males and the right side for females. Align the front end of the thread with the tip of the big toe. Extend the rear end from the center of the heel backward, then straight up along the sole to the middle of the transverse crease in the popliteal fossa (Weizhong BL-40). Cut the thread here. Next, have the patient untie their hair, parting it to reveal the midline suture of the scalp. From the anterior fontanelle (Xinmen), divide equally to the back of the head. Have the patient sit upright. Take one end of the previously cut thread and align it with the tip of the nose. Extend the thread upward along the midline suture to the back of the head, let it hang down against the skin, and guide it downward along the inner aspect of the spine. Mark the point on the midline of the spine where the thread ends with ink. (Note: This ink mark is not the moxibustion site.) Take another thread. Ask the patient to close their mouth and place the thread horizontally across the lips, reaching the corners of the mouth. Lift the center of the thread to below the root of the nasal bridge, forming a triangle shape. Cut off the lower two corners so they are even. The ends of this thread indicate the acupoints; mark them with white circles. (Note: If a woman has bound feet which are abnormally small, this is unnatural. Measuring with a foot-length thread on the head would be insufficient. Instead, transfer the measurement to Jianjing GB-21, extend downward to the tip of the middle finger, and cut to substitute for measuring the foot.) These are the first pair of points.
**Second Pair of Points:** Have the patient sit upright with arms slightly retracted. Take a bandage, wrap it around the neck forward, letting the double ends hang down level with Jiwei CV-15. (Jiwei is the lower end of the sternum/xiphoid process. Cut the double ends evenly. Flip the double ends backward. Place the center of the thread on the laryngeal prominence (Adam's apple). Let the two ends hang down along the spine and mark the position on the midline of the spine with ink. (Note: This ink mark is not the moxibustion point.) Take another thread. Ask the patient to close their mouth and measure horizontally across the lips, cutting at the corners. From the ink mark on the spine, measure horizontally outward using the same method. Mark the ends of the thread with white circles; these are the moxibustion points. These are the second pair of points.
Moxibustion should be applied to the first four points simultaneously, 21 moxa cones per point, accumulating up to 100 cones. Wait until the moxibustion blisters are about to heal, then apply moxibustion to the next two points according to the following method.
**Third Pair of Points:** Use the thread used to measure the lips in the second step. Place it on the ink marks at the ends of the double threads from the second step, starting directly down from the spine. Place the center of the thread on the ink mark. Mark the upper and lower ends of the thread with white circles; these are the moxibustion sites. These are the third pair of points.
In total, there are six points. Choose days associated with Fire (Li day or Fire day) for moxibustion. For 100 days, avoid sexual activity and excessive mental labor, rest properly, eat seasonally appropriate foods, and maintain thermal balance. If not cured, repeat the moxibustion as before; there will be no case that is not cured.
**Commentary:** *Zisheng Jing* records that for treating bone-steaming consumption, one should take the above two points plus Xinshu BL-15 (Heart Shu), located three cun lateral to the spinous process of the fifth thoracic vertebra. The Heart governs Blood, and consumptive diseases involve Blood pathology, hence these points are moxibusted. Cui Zhiti took the "Four Flowers" points for treating consumption. According to the measurement method detailed in *Jieyao*, one first compares the width of the mouth, cuts a square piece of paper with a hole in the center, places the hole over the midline ink mark on the spine, and the four corners of the paper indicate the "Four Flowers," which are Geshu BL-17 (Diaphragm Shu) and Danshu BL-19 (Gallbladder Shu). The Classics state: "Blood meets at Geshu." Commentaries say: "For blood diseases, treat this point." Since bone-steaming fever is due to Blood deficiency and hyperactive fire, these points are taken to tonify. The Gallbladder is the interior-exterior partner of the Liver and relates to Blood, hence it is also selected. Cui only mentioned "Four Flowers" without specifying Geshu and Danshu, which is an error by crude practitioners. Modern people mistakenly select points based on the name "Four Flowers," leading to frequent ineffectiveness. One must use the correct horizontal measurement method and combine them with the Three Shu points for accuracy. Today, I, Chunfu, clarify and correct this error. To ensure belief, I present the slanted point method first and explain the error later. Wise practitioners should examine and use this correctly, avoiding past mistakes.
