Mei Shi Formula: Treats sudden onset of red-black carbuncle on the face and head, resembling scabies. If not treated urgently, it will spread over the whole body leading to death. Burn deer horn (Cervi Cornus Degelatinati) into ash, grind into powder, mix with lard (Suis Cerebra) and apply topically.
Another formula: Treats ulcers on the head and face. Use Realgar (Realgar), Sulfur (Sulfur), and Alum (Alumen) ground into powder, mixed with lard (Suis Cerebra) for topical application.
Another formula: Take two liang of Wuqingzi (likely referring to a specific fruit or seed, contextually ambiguous but kept as proper noun), one liang of Almond (Armeniacae Semen Amarum), pound them together; chop one Trichosanthes Fruit (Trichosanthis Fructus); use five pig pancreases (Pancreas Porcinum). Soak in four cups of strong wine. At night, warm the mixture and apply to the affected area to make the skin smooth and white. If the area is red, add one liang of Tuguagen (Radix Citrulli Lanati) and seven large dates (Jujubae Fructus), and the skin will naturally turn white.
