Treats Wei Xu (Stomach Deficiency), where damp-heat and food stagnation obstruct, causing fullness and oppression in the epigastrium.
Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 2 liang, steamed with soil) Zhishi (Immature Bitter Orange Fruit, 1 liang, stir-fried with bran)
Grind the above into fine powder. Use lotus leaf-wrapped, simmered old rice as a binder to make pills the size of pepper seeds. Take with warm water.
Li Dongyuan said: Baizhu is bitter, sweet, and warm. Its bitterness eliminates damp-heat in the Stomach; its sweet warmth tonifies Yuan Qi (Primal Qi) of the Spleen. The dosage is double that of Zhishi; Zhishi... first tonifies Ying Qi (Nutritive Qi).
Treats hardness in the epigastrium large as a plate, with edges like an inverted cup, caused by fluid retention (Shui Yin).
Zhishi (Immature Bitter Orange Fruit, 7 pieces) Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 2 liang)
Take the above two ingredients, boil in 5 sheng of water until reduced to 3 sheng. Divide into three warm doses. The abdomen will soften when the pathogen dissipates.
Zhao Yi-de said: The epigastrium refers to the upper jiao of the Stomach. When Stomach Qi is weak, ingested fluids are not transformed, leading to obstruction, accumulation, and hardness. One must strengthen the Stomach and resolve the obstruction.

Ke Yunbo said: This pill is a sacred formula for treating Dian Xian (Epilepsy). Generally, mania and dementia are diseases of the Heart, Kidney, and Spleen.
