上为粗末。每服一钱。加姜一片水煎。去渣。不拘时温服。

(Take Zicao [Arnebiae Radix seu Rhizoma] 2 liang separately. Add two bowls of water, decoct into a paste of less than half a bowl. Add one large spoonful of rock sugar. Grind the aforementioned herbs into fine powder and mix uniformly with the Zicao paste.)

(This formula is extraordinarily effective. In one household, dozens of children suffered from severe smallpox. Only those who took this medicine recovered safely and peacefully.)
Qinghaozi (Fructus Artemisiae Annuae, 81 grains) Zhusha (Cinnabaris, 3 fen, purified) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 3 qian) Lvdoufen (Pulvis Phaseoli Radiati, genuine, 1 qian)
First, dry Qinghaozi and Gancao over gentle heat, grind them, process by water flotation to obtain fine powder, and mix uniformly with Zhusha and Lvdoufen. On the morning of the seventh day of the seventh lunar month,

Add Chidou (Adzuki bean). If there is toxicity in the Kidney, add Heidou (Black soybean). If eruptions on the upper body fail to erupt, add Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba). If there is convulsion/fright, add Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus cum Uncis). If eruptions on the lower body fail to erupt, add Niuxi. If color is not ruddy and vibrant, add Honghua (Carthami Flos). The drugs in this formula are easy to prepare. Based on the dosage, several doses can be combined. For subsequently added drugs based on symptoms, double the dosage.
(To dispel foul qi and facilitate rapid eruption of smallpox/rash.)
Use Huyu (Coriandri Fructus) 4 liang. With two cups of good wine, boil for one or two boils. Let the wet nurse hold it in her mouth and spray the infant's entire body, or only the head and face. Incense made of Huyu must be burned in the room.

Dangshen (Codonopsis Radix) Zhi Gancao (Prepared Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) Niubangzi (Arctii Fructus, equal parts)
Grind the above into coarse powder. Take 1 qian per dose. Add one slice of Shengjiang, decoct in water, strain. Take warm at any time.
