(Treating continuous epistaxis after childbirth.)
Dangguiwei (Radix Angelicae Sinensis Cauda), 3 qian; Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong), 1.5 qian; Jingjiesui (Flos Schizonepetae), 1 qian, stir-fried until black; Xuyutanh (Calcinatus Capillis Humani), 5 fen. Decoct in water. Add juice ground from Chenjingmo (Ancient Beijing Ink) using wine, half a small cup. Tongbian (Infant Urine), one small cup. Mix and take warm.
Another method: Tie the patient's hair from the vertex of the head (3-5 strands) and red velvet thread (3-5 strands) tightly around the joint of the right middle finger. Tighten until bleeding stops. This is due to retrograde flow of blood stasis.
(Treating wind-stroke after childbirth. Trismus, spasms of hands and feet. Opisthotonos. Or syncope due to blood loss with unconsciousness, rigid limbs. Or severe abdominal discomfort with vomiting and diarrhea, feeling as if dying.)
Jingjiesui (Flos Schizonepetae), remove roots, do not roast, grind into powder.
Take 3 qian per dose. Administer mixed with Tongbian (Infant Urine). If trismus occurs, pry open teeth and pour medicine in. If gums are clenched, no need to use powder; simply decoct Jingjiesui (Flos Schizonepetae) with Tongbian (Infant Urine). Wait until slightly warm, then administer.
Another prescription: Heidou (Semen Sojae Nigrum), 5 qian, stir-fry until smoke rises. Add 5 scallion heads with roots, stir-fry together. Then add one cup of good wine and one cup of water. Decoct and take warm.
(Treating malaria after childbirth.)
Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong), 6 fen; Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis); Jianqu (Medicated Leaven); Xiaqu (Medicated Leaven); Chao Cangzhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, stir-fried), each 1.5 qian; Ku Guya (Fructus Setariae Germinatus); Chao Baishao (Radix Paeoniae Alba, stir-fried); Huoxiangye (Folium Pogostemonis Cablini), each 1 qian; Mutong (Caulis Akebiae Trifolatae), 3 fen. After two doses, if the timing of malaria attacks has normalized, add Zhishengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae, honey-roasted) and Zhaichaihu (Radix Bupleuri, stir-fried), each 4 qian.
If it does not stop, administer two more doses. Continuously administer Xiuyao Yin (Rest Malaria Decoction, see Internal Symptoms 54) along with this formula, leading to gradual recovery.
(Treating dysentery after childbirth.)
Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis); Jianqu (Medicated Leaven); Xiaqu (Medicated Leaven), each 1 qian; Lao Sugeng (Caulis Perillae Frutescentis), 4 fen; Chi Lingkuai (Poria Cum Rosa), 2 qian; Danpi (Cortex Moutan), 8 fen; Huogeng (Caulis Pogostemonis Cablinis), 6 fen; Danzhuye (Folium Lophatheri)... Guangpi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae), 7 fen; Danshen (Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae), 2 qian; Sharenqiao (Semen Amomi Rotundus Shell)... Four doses.
Achieve harmony and recovery.
(Greatly tonifying yin and blood after childbirth. Resolving fever due to blood deficiency, effective as divine intervention.)
Huangqi (Radix Astragali Membranacei), 1 liang, honey-roasted; Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), 3 qian. Decoct in two bowls of water until one bowl remains. One dose leads to immediate recovery. Dosage must not be altered.
