It is discussed that when Ru Shi disease (illness caused by the toxicity of mineral drugs) triggers Huo Luan (acute gastroenteritis with vomiting and diarrhea) accompanied by Zhuan Jin (muscle cramps), it is due to the irregular intake of these drugs, leading to disharmony between Yin and Yang and the interference of clear and turbid Qi. Individuals who consume stone drugs often have accumulated heat in their Zang-Fu organs. This heat induces thirst and increased fluid intake; combined with irregular meals and overeating, the water and food damage the intestines and stomach. The digestive system fails to receive and transform nutrients, resulting downward in diarrhea and upward in vomiting, along with abdominal distension. If vomiting and diarrhea persist without cessation, Qi obstruction worsens, leading to muscle cramps. Regarding dietary and medicinal regulation, mild and warm-natured substances should be used to extinguish the mineral heat and facilitate the descent of Qi flow, thereby curing the disease.
