Commentary states: All types of dysentery arise from irregular intake of milk and food, which damages the Stomach Qi (Stomach Energy), leading to weakness in the intestines and stomach. The clear and turbid qi fail to separate, resulting in diarrhea due to deficiency. If pathogens stagnate for a long time without dispersing, dysentery forms. In cases of deficiency-cold, the excrement is greenish-white or resembles coagulated fat. If not cured for a long time, chronic cold accumulates into stubborn pathology, or black blood stasis may be discharged. If the pulse is deep and slow upon diagnosis, it is identified as Cold Dysentery (Leng Li).
