It is stated that infants and young children have weak fu-organs (hollow organs) and their Qi and Blood are not yet stabilized. When wind-cold pathogens invade, they contend with the healthy Qi, leading to dysfunction in the ascending and descending movements of Qi. Consequently, this causes distension and fullness in the heart and abdomen. If the Stomach Qi is deficient, food will not digest; if the Intestines are deficient, it leads to diarrhea.
