Wind and Fire share the same virtue, corresponding above to the Year Star (Jupiter) and Yinghuo Star (Mars). The annual grains should be green and red; the intercalary grains should be those of Taishang. The损耗 occurs in Wenjiao and Pin Yu categories. Wind, Dryness, Fire, and Heat alternate in victory and revenge. Heat diseases prevail in the lower part, while Wind diseases prevail in the upper part. Wind-Dryness victory and revenge occur in the middle. The movement is similar to the Zhengjiao year, not relying on the source of transformation, but only assisting the Yunqi, preventing pathogenic excess. In this year, it is suitable to use Pungent-Cool herbs to regulate the upper part, Saline-Cold herbs to regulate the lower part, and Sweet herbs to regulate the middle. Before the midpoint of the year, the Heavenly Qi is governed by Jueyin. Where Jueyin arrives, it is called the Wind Mansion. If Wind dominates excessively, the sky becomes dark with dust, snow objects are disturbed, Cold generates Spring Qi, flowing water does not freeze. People may suffer from pain in the epigastrium at the heart's center, radiating upward to support both hypochondria, obstruction in the diaphragm and throat, difficulty in swallowing food, stiffness of the tongue root, vomiting after eating, cold diarrhea, abdominal distension, loose stools, masses, water retention, and failure of hibernating insects to retreat. The disease originates in the Spleen. If the Chongyang pulse of the foot is absent, death ensues, and it is incurable. For balanced treatment, use Pungent-Cool, assisted by Bitter-Sweet, using Sweet to relax tension and Sour to drain. After the midpoint of the year, the Earthly Qi is governed by Shaoyang. Where Shaoyang arrives, it is scorching heat. If Fire dominates internally, fields and suburbs shine brightly, and cold and heat alternate. People may suffer from dysentery with red and white discharge, lower abdominal pain, red urine, and even bloody stools. The method should treat with Saline-Cold, assisted by Bitter-Pungent, using Sour to astringe and Bitter to disperse.

Insufficient Earth movement is called Beijian Zhi Ji, which means reduced transformation. The transformation Qi does not take effect, while the generation policy stands alone. The growth Qi is orderly, rain is delayed, the harvest Qi is peaceful, and Cold and Wind rise together. Grass and trees flourish beautifully but bloom without fruiting, or if they fruit, they are shriveled. Wind transformation prevails. If the four corners have the transformation of dusty clouds and moisture, then spring has the policy of rustling branches and drumming cracks. If the four corners undergo violent shaking and floating changes, then autumn has the revenge of severe desolation and continuous rain. If blowing is excessive, people may suffer from undigested diarrhea and cholera, heavy body, abdominal pain, trembling of sinews and bones, muscle soreness, irritability, organ Qi acting up, early emergence of hibernating insects, all diseases involving cold in the middle. During revenge, the harvest policy is severe, famous trees wither and turn gray, sudden pain in the chest and hypochondria radiating down to the lower abdomen, frequent sighing, insects eating sweet yellow substances, Qi lodging in the Spleen. Grains decrease, people suffer from poor appetite and loss of taste, green grains are damaged. This year, Jueyin descends upon the upper, Wood Qi injures the Spleen, people suffer from undigested diarrhea. Treatment uses Sweet-Harmonizing methods to harmonize the annual movement.

First Qi: From Si Chu of Great Cold day in Wuchen year to Mao Chu of Spring Equinox day in this year, totaling 60 days and 87.5 ke. The main position is Shaojiao Wood, the guest Qi is Yangming Metal, governed by Earth movement, implementing the policy of Jueyin to conduct Spring commands. Metal and Earth interact, Clear transformation proceeds, Cold begins to solemnize, killing Qi arrives. People suffer from Cold below the right side. The method should treat Yangming Guest Qi, tonifying with Sour, draining with Pungent, and clearing with Bitter. Dampness and Cold combine their virtues to conduct舒展 and flourishing transformation. Cold does not depart, flowers and snow melt into ice, killing Qi implements transformation, frost descends, famous grasses dry up, cold rain comes frequently, Yang returns to transform. People suffer from Heat in the middle. The method should treat Taiyang Guest Qi, tonifying with Bitter, draining with Saline, firming with Bitter, and moistening with Pungent. Annual grains should be green, intercalary grains should be broomcorn millet, so Cold pathogen causes no harm.

Third Qi: From Yin Chu of Grain Full day to Zi Chu of Great Heat day, totaling over 60 days. The main position is TaiZheng Fire, the guest Qi is Jueyin Wood, with central Earth movement. Wood and Fire share the same virtue, governed by Earth movement. Earth transformation is insufficient, Wind transformation acts concurrently. Heavenly policies distribute, Wind rises timely. People may suffer from tearing, tinnitus, dizziness, and tremors. The method should treat Jueyin Guest Qi, tonifying with Pungent, draining with Sour, and relaxing with Sweet. Annual grains should be green, intercalary grains should be rice, so Wind pathogen causes no harm.

Fourth Qi: From Zi Zheng of Great Heat day to Xu Zheng of Autumn Equinox day, totaling over 60 days. The main position is Shaogong Earth. The guest Qi is Shaoyin Fire, with central Earth movement. Earth occupies its position, descending upon Shaoyin. Humid heat arrives, Dampness and Heat contend, fighting above the left. People may suffer from jaundice and edema. It is suitable to treat Shaoyin Guest Qi, tonifying with Saline, draining with Sweet, and astringing with Sour. Annual grains should be red, intercalary grains should be beans, so Heat pathogen causes no harm.

Fifth Qi: From Hai Chu of Autumn Equinox day to You Chu of Light Snow day, totaling over 60 days. The main position is Taisang Metal, the guest Qi is Taiyin Earth. With central Earth movement, Qi and movement are the same. Same Qi leads to Qian transformation, Dryness and Dampness alternate in superiority. Deep Yin spreads, Cold reaches the body, wind and rain occur. It is suitable to treat Taiyin Guest Qi, tonifying with Sweet, draining with Bitter, and relaxing with Sweet. Annual grains should be red, intercalary grains should be hemp, so Dampness pathogen causes no harm. This Qi's governing Qi is Cool; use Cool without violating, known as avoiding Cool when using Cool.

Final Qi: From You Zheng of Light Snow day to Wei Zheng of Great Cold day, totaling over 60 days. The main position is Shaoyu Water, the guest Qi is Shaoyang Fire, with central Earth movement. Fire and Earth are compatible, Feared Fire commands, Yang transforms greatly, hibernating insects appear, flowing water does not freeze, Earth Qi erupts, grass grows, people feel comfortable. Diseases are warm epidemics. The method should treat Shaoyang Guest Qi, tonifying with Saline, draining with Sweet, and softening with Saline. Annual grains should be red, intercalary grains should be beans, so Fire pathogen causes no harm. This is the constant method of treatment.

General principles of annual Qi: If Wind dominates, there is Yangming revenge; if Fire dominates, there is Taiyang revenge. Treatments follow the methods of victory and revenge respectively.
